My husband, 13-year-old son, 10-year-old daughter and I were there with our flags and our "Support President Bush and our Troops" signs!!

It was truly an inspirational day -- a perfect blend of patriotic song and personal testimony. So many heros, so many talented musicians, so many 'real Americans'!!

My children still haven't stopped talking about the soldiers, the firemen, the President, Glenn Beck, the tributes, Lee Greenwood, the jet flyover, the fireworks, the doves, the balloons, the COOL people who surrounded us, and on, and on, and on (which, of course, was the primary reason my hubby and I made the herculean effort to attend this event -- my children will be forever shaped by what they heard, saw and FELT in Huntington, WV!)!

My husband and I drove there from Fla! Soooo sorry I didn't meet up with you other Freepers. My sign (St. Pete, Fla supports our troops) had FreeRepublic.com at bottom.
God bless Glenn Beck for giving us a forum to come together. The entire event was awesome!! The flyover was very touching. It was wonderful to be able to show appreciation for the sacrifices of the representatives from past wars, especially the rep from Viet Nam. Beck's caravan and the parade down a main street of Huntington really did transport me to the time Beck always talks of...his grandparents' time...when being patriotic and having stong, good values was normal and acceptable. I thought Beck's closing talk was right on the money...it's up to each of us to stand up and speak out for the values and freedoms upon which our great country was founded. It's wonderful to see more people are expressing their patriotism and supporting our President. Deb, I commend you for bringing your children to this wonderful event. It was a long drive from Florida to West Va but it sure was worth it!! God Bless America and our brave troops!
