Dan Pirato is a puke, alright. I couldn't stand him when I lived in Pittsburgh.

Once again, an entertainer fails to note that it's always a mistake to alienate half of your paying public.

Looks like the Trib is trying to prove it's not one-sided!
To: ChemistCat
you know, that's an observation that I'm surprised more haven't made!
why would you want to cut your audience in half by making some stupid political statement that will change nothing?
i mean, is someone telling entertainers to pull these stunts? and if so, what is their reward for doing so?
I can't imagine that it is a price worth paying for cutting your fan base in HALF!

The fifth thing wrong with the picture is some guy got payed to draw it. To quote Beavis and Buttehead, "It sucks!!".

Barbra Streisand can afford this. Her talent was sufficient to earn her more money than she could ever spend. She avoided Jacko's financial gaffes. And her talent was enormous enough that it took a LOT of offensive behavior from her to turn conservatives off. Moderates are still buying, not that she really needs to care.
But I doubt that this cartoonist is sufficiently solvent that he can afford to cut his general-interest audience. Maybe he intends to become a political cartoonist and cater to a segment of the trade. It worked for Trudeau...but this guy is no Trudeau....

I don't mind the left wing comics...Boondocks (or whatever it is called) is one of the best strips out there. But this isn't even clever. It reminds me of a comic strip in a high school newspaper.

A couple of weeks ago, I found a pretty good conservative comic strip. The site address is
http://www.daybydaycartoon.com/ It's a daily strip, and pretty good. :)

Huh? I beg to differ. Most of the time Boondocks is a nearly clever but hardly thoughful cheerleader for the leftists Democrats.
Boondocks usually represents the mostly insane views of the left as seen through their warped and hateful utopian goggles. You could describe Boondocks as Jayson Blair in the funny papers.

Can you find four things wrong with this picture? Well, there should be no question that we should keep right.

Boondocks is a cheerleader for the Democrats? That is absurd...ragging on the right doesn't automatically make one a tool of the left. The strip is funny the vast majority of the time; that's all I want from my comic strips. If you want thoughtful commentary I'm afraid you need to look somewhere else besides the funny pages.
To: Shethink13
In a local newspaper some years ago, I saw an actual letter to the editor where the writer suggested that Bizarro be replaced by a comic.

Bizarro is at it again, as today's strip (not online yet) has someone rebutting Sean Hannity's most recent book
by saying that it if weren't for liberals women wouldn't have the vote; labor unions wouldn't exist, etc. Trying to find it online. guy's a definite lefty
