Hey, maybe Pinch could write a kid's book: "Me and The Moose."

Pinch Sulzberger's stuffed moose collection. Note
the green one. They don't call 'im "Pinch" for nothing.

President Clinton proved you could beat the system. Jayson Blair is being criticized for following our First Black President. Sure, Blair should get nothing but I'd like to see Clinton set an example and return his ill-gotten loot.

I bet Micheal Moore will hire him, since they both are into fiction.

Maybe the worm is turning. My guess is that most people would like to see Blair and his publisher go in the hole. Would be funny if it falls flat despite being found in both the fiction and non-fiction sections.

Who is the publisher? Seems like a good time to start something is before the book even gets written. Put pressure on the publisher and others.

I've thought similar things...... isn't there a LAW that Blair broke while onhis misguided tour doing all that false reporting? I can not believe there is not something that he's done that warrents his arrest for false reporting.
Perfaps only if one of the subects/people he reported falsely about were to bring a lawsuit, it might do something.
I simply do not believe 'freedom' of the press allows one to lie intentionally, as he did. It's one thing to be biased and 'skew/slant' the news, but another to fabricate stories, events, interviews, etc.
I wish a DA would take on this case, or someone would file a 'class-action' suit against this self-serving creep. Mistakes are fine, but not over a five, six, seven year career - with intent.

"What kind of a message do his book and movie deals send to the youth of today?" He's just reinforcing the "values" demonstrated by his hero, Bill Clinton, for 8 years.

What's the problem? This is the whole point of working for the media. It is why ALL newspapers and most media allow employees to put their name of everything, to allow them to build a reputation against which they can write books. The media says "we won't pay you as much as you might be worth, but we will give you the opportunity of capitalizing on the work you do for us."
Journalism and self-promotion are mutually exclusive. Presenting facts well is not exciting. You have to be exciting to get a contract.
It is this automatic shot at getting wealthy that makes me certain that the "deepthroat" guys at the Post are and have been lying. They would already have had a pay day and written about the guy. Loyalty? Puhleeese! These are media weasels. They are simply waiting for some guy to die and, when he can't defend himself, will blame it on him. BTW, why wasn't the name of a leak at the highest level considered "news" that should have been published rather than personal property owned by the employees who "doscovered" it in the course of their duties?

I have no idea who his publisher will be. I doubt he's gotten that far yet. It might not be as easy as he thinks to find a publisher right now. His story smells pretty rotten and publishing companies might think twice about the risk of publishing such a well know liar. Hope so...

What on God's green Earth are you talking about? The guy was being paid to be a hard news reporter. He made up facts in stories which, by definition, are supposed to be factual. Are you saying we should excuse Blair and punish those who documented his lies?
