From the Arkansas Historical Commission web site:
When did radio and television come to Arkansas?
The first radio station, WOK in Pine Bluff, began broadcasting in 1921. Television station KRTV in Little Rock went on the air in 1953.
The first political convention broadcasts did occur in 1952. He must have forgotten to check the history of Arkansas television, however.
This is very similar to his story about watching Martin Luther King's speech live, which I also believe was a lie.

If Clinton was raised in Hope during 1952, then the nearest television stations would probably have been broadcasting out of Texarkana (TX) and/or Shreveport (LA).
In 1952, there were very few (if any) tv stations in the entire region.
ABC KATV 7 Little Rock began Dec 18, 1953
CBS KTHV 11 Little Rock began Nov 27, 1955
NBC Kark 4 Little Rock began _________
NBC KTVE 10 El Dorado began Dec 18, 1955
NBC KTAL 6 Shreveport/Texarkana began Aug 16 1953 as KCMC
CBS KSLA Shreveport began Dec 22, 1953

He must have forgotten to check the history of Arkansas television, however. I don't think he forgot. He just doesn't care.
What's one more lie when everything you say is spun through and through with them? He figured nobody would check and even if they did he would be long past that lie and through a good many more before he was nailed.
This man lies even when he doesn't need to. He's a classic sociopathic personality.
