Anyone who's seen a dog completely disembowled by one swipe from a boar's tusks knows it's hairy to be in the brush with these bad boys.
In my bow hunting days around Sonora, I've kicked javelinas in the snout when they charged me.
Kick one of these boars and you'll wind up with no leg to kick with!
I'd prefer a .50 caliber belt fed machine gun to clear the brush before I go in.

Javelina is my favorite hunt. Middle of Febuary we trek down to SW New Mexico and hunt near Road Forks where Mexico, NM and AZ come together on the map. I normally use a Smolt or Smython .357 mag that I had built up a few decades ago.....:o)...great little pig gun .

I had to give the other side of it from someone else's point of view. For me, like the Old Yeller bump, I think I might have been much more cautious than he was. He was lucky that things had gone as planned and never saw the other side of it.

With the way my luck has been going lately, they would find my lifeless body half way up a tree all bled out.

I'm trying for a bear hunt in the fall in Montana and never hunted a day in my life before this. I'm trying to see what my hospital bills are going to look like and maybe this will be the year. And I'm going to do everything I can to go to the next get together if I have to crawl. You guys had a lot of fun and I'm sorry I missed it.
