Playing Jesus is like wearing the Hope diamond...it might be just statistical co-incidence but it is amazing how many tragic things have happened to people who have played Jesus. I saw the write-up on them once but only remember one-- Jeffrey Hunter (who was almost holy in King of Kings) fell down a flight of stairs and died as a very young man.
Words of wisdom--If given the chance, don't play Jesus.

Words of wisdom--If given the chance, don't play Jesus Willem Dafoe almost died too! Career-speaking, of course. "Body of Evidence" (with Madonna), "Cry-Baby" (Waters), "Wild at Heart" (Lynch), "American Psycho" (need I say more?), and... the GREEN GOBLIN in "Spiderman"!
Poor Willem. I still love "Platoon", don't worry.

Knew a guy once who regularly played Jesus in an Easter play. It was said that while painting, no less than a church, a sharp bottom leg of his ladder stuck through the sheathing of a live extension cord and electrocuted him.

Playing Jesus is like wearing the Hope diamond So is playing Superman. George Reeves committed suicide and Christopher Reeve fell off a horse and broke his neck.

Words of wisdom--If given the chance, don't play Jesus. Even better advise--don't diddle children. Are you suggesting that playing the role of Jesus conjures up some evil spirit that possesses you and forces you to do abominable things?
