The 6 footer was the only legitimate birdie opportunity; the putts at 12-15 feet are marginal at best. Anything over that would not normally be called a putt for birdie.I disagree. And so do most golfers I know, including the announcers. If Tiger has a 15 footer you don't think that's concidered a birdie putt?

If Tiger has a 15 footer you don't think that's concidered a birdie putt? I said a 15-footer is marginal, meaning in my estimation a professional golfer will not often sink putts in that range. But certainly that's still considered a legitimate chance to make birdie. From what I've seen there aren't a lot of putts made in excess of 15 feet.

If a PGA player consistently makes 25 foot puts (over 50%), that player, assuming he is on the green in regulation, will be player and money won leader of the year. From 25 feet I would guess 1/3 would be above average.
