May 22, 2003 -- THE terror alert is up and so is the angst among Democratic 2004 wannabes because they know it's politically dumb and dumber to try to blame terror jitters on President Bush - but they just can't help themselves.

The only plans I've heard thus far have been about healthcare. Healthcare for crying out loud.
Expanding social programs in the face of increased terrorism and market jitters and they want to increase the size of the nannny state.

What's really troubling about this is that every time the democrats publicly berate President Bush for the war on Iraq and point to it as the blame for the current crop of terrorist acts and continue to do so, I can't help but believe this *has* to be sending a signal to terrorists that their methods of madness are working and more is needed to topple our government because "it is selfp-destructing." I find the democrats politicizing the recent bombings as absolutely the worst case of irresponsibility if not outright encouragement to those mad bombers who want to kill us all!

Ah yes no confidence in the 'average' american voter. Perhaps you would have confidence in a strong leader. Many of them have been successful for awhile. Adolf, Stalin, and even Saddam come to mind.

People who don't trust national decisions to 'average' people should go live in a dictatorship. In your desired dictatorship don't leave important decisions up to 'average' people. They delegate the future to strong leaders who make strong enforceable decisions. People like you are the ones that always put the dictators in power. You are also the first in the gas and torture chambers,as well.

But according to Tim Russert last night on CNBC an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll Americans are more concerned about healthcare than terrorism!(Sarcasm)

But the broader issue for Kerry and all the other wannabes is that Americans trust Bush on terror and terror is back at center stage, so they have to figure out how to deal with it.

Since McGovern, the Democratic Party has existed to reign in American power, they cannot turn on a dime and back something that not only requires its use but begs its prominent display.

This issue is lose-lose for the dems and a win-win for a strong America.

Healthcare could be an issue, but you'd have to come up with somthing that puts more control in the hands of the consumer, rather than less. What the dems can't get through their heads is that people want to choose their doctors, and do not want faceless agencies -- not even private insurance companies -- making decisions for them. The only way to solve this is to invent a system in which people pay according to the quality and quantity of care they get -- in other words, the marketplace. Medical savings accounts would be a step in the right direction.

Well ... I remember that just at the time x42 was impeached, 75% of the public thought he should stay in office; however, JUST ONE YEAR LATER (while the truth started leaking out) that same group had turned against x42, and now the 75% believed x42 should have been removed from office.

Then came 9/11.

It is a new day - and the American public is a lot smarter than perhaps you are giving them credit. And ... you must remember that during impeachment the mainstream media still ruled the roost; they don't anymore.

Me, neither. Used to have, but then I grew up and lost my childish naiveté. Also learned about the bell curve concept, and that median IQ runs in the 90-110 range. That means about half the population has IQ's ranging from 90 and below, and those seem to be the folks the Dems pander to most.
