"not gay, but bent, for sure, real conections with Providence I hear... "

Website says he's married and has two sons.

Can you please explain the Providence connection. I'm not familiar with that.

What WAS that original 90+ number out of SA about, anyway? It came from somewhere

I don't know the source. Actually I don't think the 90+ number was the original number, I believe 20+ was the original number. Went like this: 20+ > 90+ > (back to) 20+ ... that's a hell of a jump. A 70 person margin of error is not good reporting! Don't think the source of this erroneous data was FOX News, but they picked it up.

"No time to rule out an accidental source IMHO."

What I meant is that the media is all over this thing within minutes and even the authorities are saying it is a "device".

I didn't think enough time had elapsed to rule out an accident.

"I think most any law student, especially at a premier law school, can tell you, the pressure to perform well is almost beyond description. It's competitive, and with many professors, grades seem totally subjective."

Actually at the very top law schools (and Yale is by almost any measure *the* top law school) the competition for grades isn't terribly high. There is no class rank at Yale and I believe that the only grades are Pass with distinction, pass and fail. The main competition is for a few plum federal clerkships, law review and some of the ultra-elite firms. Even the top law firms sell themselves to Yale students rather than vise-versa.

At universities, school goes year round. They offer summer classes. True, but at most schools there is a week or two break between spring finals and the beginning of (most) of the summer classes. Depends on wether the department is offering one or two summer sessions. A law school would likely have only one, but with Yale law's servor down that's hard to check on. However the Yale summer calender shows that the summer sessions don't start until June 2nd, with housing move in on the 1st.

It could very well be some nut job who did it for kicks.

That may be true, but to call the alma mater of the President the "tail of the snake" has a certain bloody-minded islamicist-sounding eloquence to it.

I hope they check for things like natural gas line leaks. People forget that in public buildings natural gas lines are usually fairly well-pressurized and one leak ignited by a nearby spark will result in a pretty big explosion.

If it is a bomb, they need to find out what type of explosive it is. Did it use dynamite sticks? Did it use some sort of homemade explosive such as ammonium nitrate fertilizer mixed with a petroleum accelerant such as gasoline, Jet A fuel or diesel fuel? Did it use a variant of plastique explosive such as C4 or Semtex?

Yikes.

I guess you don't understand sarcasm? Or the known fact that the extremist left has cozied up to the Islamofascists because the "enemy of my enemy is my friend." (Sure, Islamofascists and the left have a need for "useful idiots"--at least until they destroy freedom and civilization as we know it. Then they'll go for each others throats.)

As for Yale, this very well may be a terrorist attack. However, there are bigger and better targets for Osama-types to target. The fact that both President Bush and his daughter are associated with Yale may (emphasis on may) be a factor.

Again, do a search of my past posts regarding Islam. I have read the Koran and the Hadith. I am not a big fan of Islam or Islamofascist, terrorist-supporting scum.
I'm an old timer on this forum. My views are well known regarding this subject. Man, you're getting tiresome.

Two Yale school grads--Bill & Hillary

Not only two Yale grads, two Yale Law School grads, which is "W" is not. He did get his undergrad degree there in '68, but MBA '75 at Harvard Business.

You're right - I first heard 20 something - then I think it went all the way to 91, then back down to 20 something. I had a hard time deciding what to believe at that point. Especially out of S.A.

I agree with you on what Yale and other American universities symbolize around the world. To many this "cradle of learning" is another source of resentment.

We're not really getting a lot of information on this. Considering Bush's girls go there, I could see it as a target and signal for "let the games begin".

Perhaps not the best place to post this but ...

Husband just called from Penn Station. All of the trains are delayed again by at least an hour and a half. Did anyone else hear anything about this?

I seriously doubt it. Remember, islamofascists not only like symbolism, but also high body counts, and you're just not going to get a high body count at a law school at this time of year and this time of day.

Frankly, at the risk of sounding too flippant, purely symbolic "message" bombings were more a characteristic of a Clinton administration act of "retaliation" than of militant islamists.
