Politics, perhaps. Located in the heart of upstate New York, Syracuse is a Republican stronghold, where the current President is wildly popular and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is not. It's all about the Clintons.....

Statewide, only 47 percent of New Yorkers say Hillary is doing an excellent or good job, according to a Zogby poll in April.
THIS is good news!

I wouldn't call it "apolitical". I'd call it begging for HIV and AIDS $$$.

Located in the heart of upstate New York, Syracuse is a Republican stronghold... BullSh!t. Billy C. won Onondaga County twice. W lost to AlWhore in 2000 by over 25,000 votes (54% to 41%), and even Hitlery won here - one of the few upstate counties she won - by over 7% against the hapless Rick Lazio.
Yeah, compared to the Bronx, Syracuse may be a GOP hotbed, but not by any rational standard does it fit that description. Some of the surrounding area (Cayuga County comes to mind) is just as bad lately in terms of idiotically voting for liberals.

Usually the simplest answer is the most accurate. The president agrees with the ex-president politically.

And who say's Bubba was not obsessed with being president of the globe? His absolute delight over issues in foreign countries which is alway's remedied by an emptying of the US Treasury, accompanied by some official apology for our country's selfishness and guilt is entirely predictable.
As for Hillary, they are both busy playing good cop/bad cop. There is a plan as certain as James Carville has serpent DNA flowing thru his cold blooded veins. Something along the line of Bubba gleaning weakspots in foreign affairs and Hitlery whipping up the socialists here in the Motherland. If they had their way, the Stae Department(which needs to be taken out back and shot ala' Ron Brown) would run the globe to enrich the dictators of the world and their henchmen while development costs for such a plan are covered by the US Taxpayer.
The American Taxpayer is the largest resource on the globe. Clinton, The UN, the European Union, The Arab League, et al...... Are all about tapping that resource until it's a dead host.

"I applaud President Bush for proposing to triple funding from America to combat HIV and AIDS, including providing greater treatment to those with the disease in fourteen poor nations in Africa and the Caribbean," Clinton told the surprised crowd of 20,000 students, parents faculty and community members.Sounds like some FReepers I know.
