There has been some chatter (we are on high alert after all) about a missing girl in the area where SP attended college. There is some mystery around the story - somthing like SP left the university before police could question him and his reason for leaving wasn't clearly established. Hopefully someone on this thread can shed some light on this or debunk it completely.

Yeah, not just one but TWO missing girls that attended colleges of SP.. one of them dated a friend of Snott's. I think her last name was Smart. I almost finding myself hoping that they can link him somehow. It's amazing the emotion this case can elicit.

Kristen Smart is the girl you are thinking about. You can read about her disappearance at http://www.findkristinsmart.org/ and at http://www.sonofsusan.com/. It is a truely heart-wrenching story for anyone but especially for those with daughters of their own. The memorial video is long but poignant.

There doesn't seem to be a link between her and SP but I do think that you are correct in that not even SP's parents know why he left the school.

Kristin Smart, the missing girl, was attending Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo the same time as Scott Peterson. There has never been any connection made between her and Scott.

Quilla, you are confused in saying he left the university before the police could question him. What happened is that the police later sent out questionairs to all the students asking them questions. Some students returned them others didn't. Evidently Scott was one of the students who didn't return his.

Scott had gone to Arizona State before that. He only stayed a short while and then returned home. In one of the articles his mother is quoted as saying no one knew why he had left.
