Thanks for the pics. I checked and the towns you list are on I-40 across the Texas Panhandle. So that's the old Route 66 ? Thanks.

We moved from Ohio to Arizona in '69, before all of I-40 was completed. I can remember leaving the Interstate at Shamrock, then picking it up again just shy of Amarillo...home of the 72oz T-Bone that you got for free if you could eat it in less than an hour!

Yup...much of the route was US66 before it was overlaid with I-40.
