I've always thought Freeh was a decent guy. Unlike his boss, and his boss's boss.

Not me. I never trusted Freeh and never will. He participated in some great political theater and a lot of the dopey GOP congresscritters fell for it hook, line and sinker.
Freeh basically sent FBI files to C Livingstone by the wheeelbarrow load, a deed where someone should have gone to prison, and a deed by which many GOPers may be blackmailed for years to come.
I'd love to know how Louie-Louie managed to time his waltz out of Dodge so impeccably....what was it again?...ten days prior to 9-11?
I consider Freeh very repsonsible for Intel failures that allowed 9-11 to occur. He has a lot of "splaning to do".
IMHO, one of Bush's biggest failures is that Freeh has been let skate so untarnished that he can show his face in public without being chased through the streets by outraged Americans.

What in hell prevented Freeh from speaking his so-called mind when he had the job? And what about those gdmnd FBI files that are now safely on some gdmnd Foxpro database for the gdmnd Democrats to use forever?
Decent guy, your arse! He is, was, and always will be the wimp who helped the Clintons further ruin the FBI.

There were many on Capitol Hill who tried to work with Freeh to expose Clinton's scandals, but they and he were never able to get aroung Reno, and could never figure out how to attack her to get her out of the way.
