I always thought one of the interesting things about Freeh is his connection to Opus Dei. His brother is a pretty high ranking official in the order I have heard. He attended the same church that Robert Hanssen went to. Interesting stuff. I actually met Freeh here at Rutgers, when he visited. Seemed decent, but I consider his reign at the Hoover building mixed at best.

are you saying for EIGHT years, X did not read the daily intelligence reports? That's a fact?

Pegita, I wasn't there in the White House, and I wasn't in the Oval Office to see exactly what Clinton did or did not do each morning. All I know is that this highly reliable individual was terribly discouraged because the CIA did provide these briefing papers to Clinton (which HE and not just his aides is supposed to read) and they were not read. I don't know exactly how many times out of the 2920 days Clinton was in office he might actually have read the briefing, and how many times he didn't. The point is that the CIA tried in vain to get him to do his duty and keep up with what he should know each day. And today, we see the result.

Mr. Freeh really should write the tell-all book about Bill Clinton and his complicity in terrorist attacks. Please Mr. Freeh, "Just Do It".How he's kept his mouth shut this long, I'll never know.

Freeh should have resigned in protest of X42's disgraceful behavior. I still can't believe that no high ranking member of the military, such as one of the Joint Chiefs, never resigned in protest.

I wonder if Susie Estrich has learned anything about her liberal buddies and their tolerance after what happened to her column.

The Media (whoever that is) is still in deathly fear of the Clinton's apparently.

Can anyone figure out why?

This is a barn burner!
More evidence of Clinton's blatant refusal to provide for the security of our interests!
How did this treasonous rapist get away with all of this? My God, he needs to be in prison, not on the talk circuit bashing the Bush foreign policy! He still gets away with this crap!!!! The Clintons are dangerous, and we can't seem to get rid of them!

Clinton didn't care about the intelligence briefing. I really believe he was hoping to bring this government down. Still is, along with his little bride. We have got to be sure she never makes it into power again.

IMHO, one of Bush's biggest failures is that Freeh has been let skate so untarnished that he can show his face in public without being chased through the streets by outraged Americans.

Sort of like the bin Laden family getting whisked out of the country, eh?

What in hell prevented Freeh from speaking his so-called mind when he had the job? And what about those gdmnd FBI files that are now safely on some gdmnd Foxpro database for the gdmnd Democrats to use forever?

Decent guy, your arse! He is, was, and always will be the wimp who helped the Clintons further ruin the FBI.

Perhaps Clinton had someone else read the CIA dailies and brief him on them?

LOL, Clinton had somebody read the briefs and brief him on the briefs while he was wearing briefs.

It's easy to think of the toon as merely a corrupt clown, but he was a dangerous corrupt clown. Thank God the grownups are back in charge.

The Clinton Legacy continued to haunt us....and it will for decades to come.

The euphoria of the 1990's under Clinton may still result in many dark days in the future. It seems every week or so there is new fallout from the Clinton years. Scary.

Good point:

And recall that although Osama Bin Laden was included among the list of unindicted co-conspirators in the first trade tower bombings the Clinton administration claimed it never had a legal basis to ask for his arrest and extradition to the USA.
