In a conversation with NEWSWEEK, Blair spoke of his feelings since his career went up in flames: I cant say anything other than the fact that I feel a range of emotions including guilt, shame, sadness, betrayal, freedom and appreciation for those who have stood by me, been tough on me, and have taken the time to understand that there is a deeper story and not to believe everything they read in the newspapers. Or so Jayson says.

"not to believe everything they read in the newspapers." I dissolved in giggles after reading this quote.
Yeah, when I got to that line my eyes immediately shot back up to the source link. I fully expected to see that this piece was from the Onion, or Registered, or some comedy site. Hilarious stuff.

From the comments this man has made, I can safely say he feels no shame whatsoever.

You figured out something important:
Howell Raines didn't care, as long as any article made Bush or any member of his admin look bad!! Such is the depth of Howell's rage and hatred of any Bush. The guy is not only incompetent, but his rage has defeated him.

If I could give an "understatement award," you would win for this:
White guilt is no excuse to allow a reporter to lie to the readers time and time again.
