In a conversation with NEWSWEEK, Blair spoke of his feelings since his career went up in flames: “I can’t say anything other than the fact that I feel a range of emotions including guilt, shame, sadness, betrayal, freedom and appreciation for those who have stood by me, been tough on me, and have taken the time to understand that there is a deeper story and not to believe everything they read in the newspapers.” Or so Jayson says.

I'll bet most of the staff at the NYT identifies with Malvo.

hey, i've read the nyt print edition for years and i don't remember any "attacks" on bill. yes, there were concerns expressed on the editorial page. but, for the most part, the nyt went along with the democrat agenda, certainly during impeachment.

read the story. the guy's got some big problems.

now that they've expunged him from their social circuit, and made him out to be a bad guy, they put a pic on the front page for every consumer to look at with of all things, a cigarette!

i read the original 4 pages diatribe in the nyt print ed and honest to god, i was asking myself, why 4 pages?

that's a long read, even for the nyt.

there has to be something else going on here that we don't know about.

rush limbaugh the day afterwards said that howell raines would not lose his job because of his close relationship to the owner.

but later, rush revised his opinion to say that if another such person emerged, then raines might be out.

you havta wonder if raines was having a relationship with blair? could be way off base, but i'm clueless.

It's not about class, Blair was part of the liberal 'annointed' like Raines and many of the other reporters in media. They come from decent backgrounds but they've been trained that it's their job to help the 'oppressed.'

This elitist mindset that reporters are supposed to use their jobs to 'help' people by writing slanted articles is imbeded at the NYT, WPOst, LATimes, etc., and the root cause of Blair and the NYT's problem

Do you believe Blair is the only one on the NYT who made up quotes, invented news, etc. to push the their liberal agenda? How many friends did Blair have amongst these guys? What if cites other reporters fabrications while on the talk show/book/movie circuit?

If the NYT was actually concened with reporting only the truth, this is the calm before the storm.

Hilarious. ....But I read the Post, not the Slimes ....so I have less to worry about on that front.
