RALEIGH, N.C. -- Talk show pioneer Phil Donahue heard boos and catcalls Saturday during a politically tinged commencement address at North Carolina State University.

Donahue's speech was peppered with his political opinions. It was met with boos that rained down like confetti.

The morons who gave Clarence Thomas a hard time should have been handed white robes and hoods as they were leaving, stamped with "DEMOCRATIC PARTY" on the front and "COMPLIMENTS OF U.S. SENATOR ROBERT C. BYRD" on the back.

They needed to have "RACIST" rained down on them the same way they've heaved it at us when welfare waste has been cut from the budget!

"Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel for a speaker"

I'd have been upset too if I was graduating and other schools were getting class acts like the president or Laura Bush, Clarence Thomas, etc. and I got stuck having to listen to that blathering moron, Donohue.

My favorite exchange:

POSTER 1: "Agree or disagree, everyone is entitled to their freedom of speech. Those who walked out turned their backs on the basic rights of Americans allowed under the constitution."

POSTER 2: I agree whole-heartedly. Can't the administration keep those students from walking out in a ceremony for them?

POSTER 1: "Bottom line, ignorant ass parents ruined the ceremony, not Phil."

POSTER 2: Exactly. We agree again. There is no place in this country for parents to speak their mind and offer up rebelling notions. They were stupid ideas. Any intelligent person who is not some stupid ignorant redneck would not agree with them, and for this reason, these ideas must be silenced. All I'm saying is, there should be guards or something who can forcefully stop a crowd from dissenting when Phil Donahue gives speeches about the basic rights guarenteed under the constitution. If not, this is not what America was founded on, this is just another Baghdad, Afghanistan.

Poster 2 sounds like they belong here on FR. Talk about vicious satire! LOL!

I remember the "commencement speech" that I was subjected to in '95 at UMass.

OMG, Kennedy (puke) country. What can you expect?

Yeah, they're always looking for a handout.

"Donahue, 67, urged the graduates to help renew basic American constitutional values of free speech, separation of church and state, and respect for the rights of minorities."

...and the appointment of federal judges, right Phil?

Pardon the un-ladylike expression, but I wouldn't squat to pee on him if he was on fire.

Isn't the reason Edwards is running for president is because he couldn't get re-elected as senator in N.C.?

"Please do not surrender to the mediocrity of life," said Gutierrez...

Too late for Donahue.

"Since when have people like Donahue and his ilk ever acted any other way EXCEPT in poor taste????"

His idea of good taste, like most modern liberals, is to suck hard enough to leave lip prints on Bill Clinton's butt.

Since when do we execute retarded teenagers?

Since BUSH took office.LOL

No, that would have been Arkansas while clinton was governor.

I don't recall the details but I believe it was during one of his re-election campaigns. The name Rector comes to mind but I'm not at all certain of that.
