Total agreement on the UPPER CLASS comment. Mara Liasson (sp?) made the UPPER CLASS comment on FOX NEWS WATCH yesterday. So I guess UPPER CLASS now means:
You cheat on your wife.
You take drugs.

"We may pity the long-suffering Jacqueline Kennedy, but she knew the deal going in"
She was no better, her cousin (my wifes uncle) called her the biggest whore in DC.
The only reason that she stayed with him was that Joe was paying her $one million a year to stay and stay silent. When he became incapacitated she went to Rose to demand her million for the year (her cousin was in the house at the time) Rose refused to pay her. She immediatly went upstairs, came down less than 5 minutes later and told Rose to shove it, she was marrying Onassis.

I really really really object to people giving JFK a pass for his cruelty and treachery.
"Boys will be boys" is pure BS.
I, too, feel Jackie's grief was genuine and profound.
People that do what he did might as well drag razor blades over the flesh of their 'loved ones', for all the pain he so eagerly delivers.
He was an animal without a conscience...a glamourous and gifted one, no doubt.
I loved him when I was a kid...lived in Dallas when he died, was deeply marked by the event.
As the years pass, the affection for him has been tempered by rage and disgust.
He never knew the meaning of the words Semper Fi.
He kept faith only with himself and his ambition.
When I look at him, I see a cruel and deceitful liar without respect for people or principle.

"Kennedy's womanizing had, of course, always been a form of amusement, but now it also gave him a release from unprecedented daily tensions," Dallek writes.Dallek calls it "release", I call it wallowing in the mud.

"Isn't it bad enough that you solicit this woman for my husband, but then you insult me by asking me to shake her hand!" she sniped at two aides after spotting one of her husband's sex partners on a receiving line.To use the word "snipe" describing Jackie's remarks is odd. "To snipe" carries a negative image of the complainer. It seems she would be justified in her complaint.

I don't think we should even mention the name "Hillary" when we also talk about Jackie. There's a BIG difference between these two ladies.
Now I'm not one of those diehard Kennedy lovers, but we have to give Jackie credit. She played the role of trophy First Lady and was a good ambassador for America when she traveled abroad. She was also a good mother, devoted to her children. And from articles I've read, she made herself available to Jack on a steady basis, and the White House staff knew to give them privacy in the afternoons. They were considered a loving young couple. I believe Jackie tried hard to keep her marriage strong.
Hillary, on the other hand....well, we all know her story (Barf).

Everybody does it.
It's all about sex
Can't we move on?

This is bs. Jackie Kennedy was just as guilty as Hitlery for ignoring their husbands actions. These two, in my opinion, are and/or were not couragous women. They were, more like, what can you do for me. Long suffering, my you know what. It is total bs. They each expect and expected a payoff.

The New Image(a highly informed one) coming to light about Kennedy (and that whole literally damned family) is that the Kennedy Familia made a deal with Hollywood, the burgeoning Television industry as well as media elites of the NE corridor to portray a possible sex addict and serial philanderer as a Great Man after only 3 years or so in office.
Kennedy we know was for media purposes a show President who behind the wholesome and athletic image of American family, was in fact a mild cripple (Addison, his back, lots of drugs, Marilyn Monroe, Mimi, etc.).
The above combined with the eldest Kennedy male dying during a near impossible WWII mission, Ted Kennedy's Chappaqua, RFK's targeted assassination, and capping it all off in the 90's with a skiing accident and death and a plane crash killing two women on board, would seem conclusive enough proof that the Kennedy legacy was largely fabricated and that Kennedy men carry a gene which predisposes them to self destruction, along with dubious impact on the American culture.
The Myth was made possible by a huge endowment made to American Liberal Institutions which continue to propagate this Myth.
By the way, why are Liberal Democratic Presidents of this era referred to by their initials: RFK, JFK,LBJ and Republican Presidents are not: Ford, Nixon, Regan and the first President Bush.
Thankfully we are doing the liberal historians a turnabout: GWB

It's worse than that.
I remember reading ages ago in some bio or other, that Jackie was going to leave JFK before the election of '60, but the old man, Joe, bribed her with $1 million if she'd hang in there.
And she did of course.

"
While Kennedy's tomcatting has long been a source of fascination, Dallek doesn't believe it altered history." "As far as I can tell," he wrote, "Kennedy's dalliances were no impediment to his being an effective President."
So, if it was so insignificant, how come the media gave JFK such a pass? Hmmmmmmm?
They never even alluded to it, let alone name names. If it had been a republican president, you can believe they would have blatted it all over the world, complete with interviews of the women included.

Yeah---looks like Jackie was in some ways the forerunner
to Hillary. BUT, the difference between the Kennedy political couple and the Clinton couple ends there. Kennedy was a sophisticated and intelligent man who actually had some real experience in life that shaped his personality, and was in fact a good President. Clinton is,
well, Clinton.

...the part of this saga where we're supposed to compare the "long suffering hillary! with Jackie. Let's not forget that we could also say, the "long suffering Bill" can be compared with Jackie too, as I'm sure that Hitlery has had as many female romps in the WH -and surrounding areas - as Bill has.

Marion (Mimi) Beardsley Fahnestock, now a Manhattan divorcee. I wonder how much that job pays.

Joe Kennedy picked Jackie, Joe Kennedy was Jackie's Svengali. Joe Kennedy even picked out Jackie's wedding gown(and she hated it). I have seen the video of a young Jack Kennedy and Jackie, being interviewed. It was eerily reminiscent of a Prince Charles and Princess Diana TV interview,a few years later.I think Jack and Prince Charles were both coerced into marriage by self serving fathers. It was well known that Jackie smoked, to keep her svelte figure, yet how many pictures do we see of her smoking. The whole facade was built on Joe Kennedy's marketing of JFK and Jackie as being perfect as American's own royality.

The way I heard it poor Jackie did a deal with dear old dad-in-law to stay married to his son. A lot of Jackie's pain was of her own making.

The Kennedy's and Bill Clinton are serial woman abusers. Why are Demonrats and their fellow-travelling Radical Leftists allowed to get away with giving them a free pass? I thought they believed in protecting women's human rights? Or do they? Expecting a Leftist to be intellectually honest and consistent, is like expecting Arafat to convert to Judaism.

including Ellen Rometsch, a suspected East German spy who romped naked in the White House pool.Rumors have it that he actually married her and when he began his political career, old Joe pulled out all the stops to get that story killed and threatened everybody in Washington, literally.
If I am not mistaken, that very episode is the origination of the phrase "scorched earth policy."
