someone had pointed out to me that the EID muslims were one of the more "mellower" sect, in that they are different (and don't preach violence) than some of their other radical muslim bretheren.

I'm sure someone could elaborate for me.

The ONLY way I'd use one on a letter to the troops is if I wrote the following underneath it:

CAREFULLY REMOVE FROM ENVELOPE AND USE AS A URINAL TARGET WITH OUR BLESSINGS!

It is quite possible that our own USPS is committing TREASON.

For some strange reason, I'm suddenly reminded of those monthly meetings of Postal Inspectors where they all fly to Washington and build sand castles, dress up as animals and sing songs....

Would you send a letter to a soldier with this stamp?

No, but that doesn't mean that the USPS shouldn't have such a stamp in a society such as ours. See kstewskis's post #2.

You have the right to boycott it, but we have a Muslim population in the Millions as well as others who are interested in the religion.

While many might still mix islam with radical islam, many Americans don't including our President.

Personally i don't care to have this type of stamp, but i'm not going to be a dictator and tell others not to buy it.

Eid is actually tied in very closely with Christianity and Judaism.

http://eid-al-adha.123holiday.net/

Eid al-Adha
Eid al-Adha or Feast of Sacrifice is the most important feast of the Muslim calendar. It concludes the Pilgrimmage to Mecca. Eid al-Adha lasts for three days and commemorates Ibraham's (Abraham) willingness to obey God by sacrificing his son. Muslims believe the son to be Ishmael rather than Isaac as told in the Old Testament. Ishmael is considered the forefather of the Arabs. According to the Koran, Ibrahim was about to sacrifice his son when a voice from heaven stopped him and allowed him to sacrifice a ram instead.

The feast re-enacts Ibrahim's obedience by sacrificing a cow or ram. The family eats about a third of the meal and donates the rest to the poor.

I did a double-take when I saw this stamp. At first I thought it was Teriq Aziz.

REMEMBER to adamantly and vocally BOYCOTT this stamp when purchasing your stamps at the post office. To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those AMERICANS who died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors.

I would prefer to think it honors those AMERICAN Muslims who wear the uniform of the United States Marines, Army, Navy or Air Force, many of whom are serving with honor and distinction in the Afghanistan and Iraq AOs even now as you froth at the mouth. It is not Islam that is our enemy but terrorists and tyrants, many, even most of whom are Muslims. The people of Afghanistan and Iraq, who we have now freed from the terrorists and tyrants, are Muslim too you know. The women and girls freed from the oppression of a certain group of Muslims, are Muslims themselves.

We still have lots of "payback" to make. But let that not blind us to the real identity of our enemies. Heck some of them, the most dangerous ones in the long run, are domestic enemies and not Muslims. The French are not Muslims, nor are the Germans or the Russians. The ChiComs aren't Muslims either, nor the North Koreans.

Question: Would you send a letter to a soldier using THIS stamp?

Answer: No.

In fact, if the Post Office tried to foist one of these things off on me, I would refuse it. The United States has no business touting Muslim feasts.

There are many fine people of the Muslim faith here in America - some of them are my co-workers and wouldn't hurt a fly. This broad-brush condemnation of all Muslims serves no one.

What kind of evil crappy stamp is that doing in the US Postal Service?
That's sick!
God bless our precious, brave and outstanding men and women of the Armed Services and lest we forget, their wonderful families.
