RANCHO MIRAGE, California (CNN) -- Former President Ford was taken to a hospital here shortly before noon Friday when he became dizzy during a game of golf, an assistant said.
"He is feeling great; they're just monitoring him," said Penny Circle, Ford's chief of staff.
The 89-year-old former president was playing golf in 96-degree weather.

Probably taken to Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage.
Of this there could be little doubt....Mrs. Bat and I, unfortunately, spent much of the last week there due to my father's admittance via ER (same age as Ford -)
Being an extremely well endowed hospital, there are more wings there under the "Ford" name than the Betty Ford rehab thing.
The Fords are tireless charitable workers out here - that hospital alone shows some of the results.

The jokes about him being a klutz are just liberal spin. Remember what they did to Quayle and his spelling of "potatoe"? (Hey, it was misspelled on the card.)
I think the public has woke up a bit to fact that they are getting propaganda from the left and it's just not going to be as effective as it use to be.
(He has no gravitas, ya know.)

Typical Ford, still golfing in 96 degrees. Nothing ever stops him from getting what he wants. Best wishes Mr.President!

Your right, no doubt about that. My point was, is that alot of comedy on SNL does have an agenda, which has always irked me. The funniest thing I ever heard, was from Daily, gores campagin manager, how Al Gore was watching SNL so he could "correct" his image and change his mannerisms. My god, and people thought Bush was stupid. Ford was an idiot, there is no doubt about that, he's still an idiot to this day. His whole the party needs to move the center, and he wants the party to go moderate, he's become friends with Jimmy Carter (another idiot) and is very much a liberal with his social beliefs.
He has by the way, since put an end to the urban legend that he refused to meet with a secret service agent who saved him, because he was gay. Apparently, he believes that there should be, gay marriages, not civil unions mind you, actual gay marriages. Reminds me of the idiot Dean. There's a good reason why Jesse Helms loathed the man, and promised Reagan support only if he swore not to act like, and only to condemn Ford.

"Dizzy spell? That sounds like his entire presidency."
You stole my thunder - but I loved your line anyhow! D'ya remember W.I.N.? A lot of the Republican Brahmans, like good 'ol Jerry and Bob Dole just seem to get fielded at the worst possible moment. Who the hell is the team manager, anyway?

"Of course, Ford dug his his own grave..."Ford was an unusually clueless Republican...
Before he checks out of Planet earth, perhaps he'll shed a little light on the real deal regarding the Warren Commission.

Yeah, and Gerald didn't have his stumbling around at night looking for or returning from a nookie run.

Bob Hope's jokes about Gerald Ford:
"You all know Jerry Ford -- the most dangerous driver since Ben Hur. Ford is easy to spot on the course. He drives the cart with the red cross painted on top. Whenever I play with him, I usually try to make it a foursome -- the President, myself, a paramedic and a faith healer. One of my most prized possession is the Purple Heart I received for all the golf I've played with him.
"Whenever I play with Ford these days I carry 13 clubs and a white flag. I try to win only enough from him to pay my extra insurance premiums."

How come I'm picturing a Chevy Chase pratfall? An astute Secret Service agent wrestled the dizzy spell to the ground.

God bless you, President Ford (and help you see things better before you die, like why people should be allowed to live, even if they're really, really tiny).

He's had a dizzy spell for almost 30 years. His pathetic wife, by all indications, has been dizzy all of her life. Thanks, Gerold, for Jimmy Carter.

I feel the same way. If the groundskeepers would just plain leave us all alone ... Why, gosh -- we'd have perfect rounds! :-)
