We went to Washington DC and Virginia this spring for vacation during spring break and my son (7th grade) earned EXTRA credit for standing up in class and talking about all the historical places he visited..." That's wonderful! It looks like our family will make our first visit to those places in June...I'm very excited!
May I add, if you have enough time, to visit the Hampton Roads area. Lots of Revolutionary and Civil War History. NOt to mention the Beaches! Welcome to Virginia (in Advance!)

Thank you!!! We hope to visit Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown along with DC sights...I'm so excited! My favorite books (a series of historical novesl by Elswyth Thane) are set in VA.
My husband wants to know if Fox News gives studio tours. Don't I wish!! :) :)
