[history]
May 16, 2003 -- Laci Peterson was savagely carved up, her killer cutting off her head and removing internal body parts, a chilling new report said yesterday.
Fox News quoted a source on the legal team of her husband, Scott, as saying the condition of Laci's body was "horrendous" - "awful, awful, awful."

Internal parts missing or extracted? I don't believe it! The baby was still inside her up until shortly before the torso was found!

John Goold, the chief investigator in the infamous case, declined to comment on the report. "We want to protect the integrity of the investigation," he said. Too late!

Satan, yeah, that's the ticket. That's the booogie man theory Geragos is spitting out for the media to repeat for benefit of the jury pool. ( After all, the Columbian drug dealer theory has already been used. ) Geraldo Rivera at least acknowledged that his source on this "carved up body" leak, and the guess that the baby was removed for some cult ceremony, came from a source "friendly to the defense".
Defense and prosecutors agreed not to release autopsy results, wasn't that civil? (Geraldo told viewers last night that the prosecutor in this case and Geragos attended law school together.) Well this civility frees up Geragos to spew out totally bogus crap to the media about the condition of the bodies. I believe most lawyers on tv last night discredited Geragos' theory because the baby's body was in much better condition than Laci's, having been in the womb long after she died.
But this is the last time I'll bother to comment on anything I see on television about this crime. They're all lawyers, they're all lying. Whether out of evil intent, or ignorance, the result is the same... we end up repeating misleading information as if it's fact.

What's not to believe? Whether the baby was or was not inside her until recently is independent of this.
To: YaYa123
Of course none of that changes that Scott dyed his hair blonde and was lying to his lover about being married. I don't think it makes him look less suspicious at all ---it makes it look to me like he's the one who carved her up.

Yeah, a satanist cult--makes sense to me. As much sense as the Columbian drug cartel that necklaced Nicole Simpson.
Geragos is spewing out this stuff in order to influence public opinion and the jury pool.
I hope the prosecutors fight back with fire, if this is the way the game is going to be played.

They're all lawyers, they're all lyingDrunk sitting in a bar loudly complaining, "All lawyers are arseholes"
Another drunk at the end of the bar says, "You better take that back!!"
First drunk says,"Whass the matter? You a lawyer?"
"No" says the second drunk, "I'm an arsehole."

There used to be a time when defense lawyers (whether by law or personal ethics) stuck to the facts of the case in building a defense. Now they just throw it all at the wall and see what sticks.

This report
MAY turn out to have been a deliberate falsehood, designed to smoke out whoever is "feeding" confidential inside info to Fox News.
From everything I've read, the autopsy reports ( and investigation reports ) have been sealed to preserve some degree of integrity - a consideration Fox News is apparently not interested in.
1. The Fox News reports can be cited to show "prosecutorial intent to poison the jury pool ".
2. Describing "the only piece of evidence" linking this crime to the primary suspect, helps the primary suspect to come up with a believable explanation.
It's nice to have a network that is outside of liberal control, but I wish they would excercise a bit more responsibility in cases like this !

"No . . . there are internal parts missing."
What? Like sharks (sorry to be graphic) don't eat internal organs? The body was horribly cut up -- you mean like with razor sharp shark teeth?
What a bunch of BS.

The killer sounds as though he was cleaning a fish. Removed the head, feet and parts of arms, and removing the internal parts.

I was thinking more along the lines of gutting a deer. I believe when a body is disposed of in water, air builds up in the abdomen and this build up could cause it to float to the surface. The killer may have carved the body up to aid in concealment.
(This is really horrible.)
