I like the way Vice President Cheney thinks. Terrorize the terrorists. Use all assets. They lose. Life goes on.

Thanks for the ping! I'm up late watching the lunar eclipse. The skies cleared for a very nice show.

Too close to the horizon, and sky a bit to bright to see here.

U.S. shows U.N. revised Iraq draft

UNITED NATIONS, May 15 (UPI) -- Some key U.N. Security Council diplomats dismissed as "insignificant" changes in a revised text of the U.S. draft resolution on Iraq presented Thursday to a meeting of technical experts, save for a limit put on immunity from legal attachments of oil revenues.

The measure handed the Middle East experts, while strengthening the role of the United Nations special coordinator to be appointed by U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan, still gives the U.S.-led coalition a strong hand in controlling Iraq's oil wealth.

It's when you get the yellow coloration on the edges and brownish glow on the rest of the disk as you come out of the totality. I couldn't quite see it with my eyes.

Awesome show from here, not a cloud in the sky. The red look is kinda weird, spooky.

Same here. Clear and excellent view.

Fighting in Congo rages out of control of UN forces

Rival tribesmen battled with guns and machetes in east Congo outside UN offices jammed with more than 10,000 terrorized civilians. The UN scrambled to assemble an international force to end the bloodshed.

The fighting in Bunia killed at least 10 people on Wednesday -- including women and children. Most victims were hit by mortar fire as they crowded around the UN compound in Bunia.

Excuse me? This has been going on now for how many years???? And Kofi has just now decided that there's a crisis?

If you want to see a humanitarian crisis, the Congo is it.

Oh, while we're at it, why is there no mention of the ethnic cleansing in Zimbabwe? I forgot...Mugabe is pals with Chiraq.
