Nothing follows Yes, that's why it's called "death." Sorry. Say, I wonder why we say it present tense? I mean, she died, right? She just did it once, right? It's past tense, right? I'm not picking on you, the media does it this way. I just don't know why.
Well, this is too bad. She was one of the first country singers I ever heard when I was a kid visiting the grandfolks.

Bye bye June. sniff.

"Hurt" was originally by industrial rockers Nine Inch Nails - I'm still in awe of the power of Johnny's version.
Very sad news - I have June and Johnny's duet on "Jackson" going though my head right now. A huge loss to country music...

She played his mother, who died early in the film. You may remember the opening scene where Duvall is riding down a country lane and happens across a grisly auto accident. The old woman riding with him--his mother--was June Carter Cash.

I am sorry to hear this. My prayers go for her soul and for Johnny C.
To: Dark Knight
It was written by Trent Reznor and originally performed by him as Nine Inch Nails (his band moniker). Johnny's interpretation of this song is beyond compare; I urge anyone who hasn't seen the video to do so. Hauntingly excellent.

I was moved almost to tears when I saw it. It reminded me of a final chapter of his life being narated by himself. Very powerful. My prayers go out to the "man in black" and the rest of his family. I am sure he thought he would be the first to go, so sad.

I hate CW but Johnny and a few others are beyond categories.Johnny Cash really represents an older CW tradition.

"...when John walks on that stage, the rest of 'em might as well leave."
That's exactly right. I saw Johnny perform in Dallas in the late 80s - early 90s - great seats in the 3rd row. This was the Highwaymen Tour with Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings. Just like she says when the "Man in Black" walked out into the spotlight and slung his guitar over his back the rest of them just disappeared. I remember telling friends and family that afterwards.
June was there that night too - sitting a couple rows behind us and she stood and took a bow.
Her loss will be devastating for Johnny. A true love match.

My thoughts exactly. It was as if he were looking back on his own colorful past and offering it up unapologetically for our perusal. I was struck with a sense of eavesdropping on a very personal moment for him, and her as well. I live in the area, and down through the years have seen them often in public and have even been in their home once or twice. They were unfailingly gracious people, and true musical royalty.

She just appeared on CMT's Flameworthy Music Video Awards, accepting an award for Johnny. I thought he was the one who was ill...this is sad.
Godspeed to the family.

Us too when she accepted the award given to Johnny Cash. She looked very slow and weak and as always, a strong, kind gentlemanly Vice Gill was there to stand by her side and be there if needed...making sure the camera was on her. Rest in peace June...you are at rest now. Prayers for Johnny, he will be lost without her.

I can't believe Johnny outlived his beloved June. He's been on his deathbed for years, and now she dies.

Maybe I have been on the moon but...who is Dave D? I don't recall hearing anything. Perhaps in an area I am not familiar with.
