He died a better death than Elliot Ness who died an alcoholic in an alley. Ness either froze or basically died of malnutrition.

Why, there's people dying today that have never died before.

For some strange reason, I can still remember him in Eagle Squadron, about Spitfires in the Battle of Briton. It had to be in the very early 40s.

I loved Robert Stack in "Airplane!" and his Taco Bell commercials were good, too.
A lot of people don't know that Robert Stack was also a national champion shooter. I don't know exactly what gun(s) or ranges, but he won nationals in at least one category. I saw a documentary about him. He has a shooting trophy room that you can't believe. I'll see if I can find a link.

Yep, I saw that movie. But the "Untouchables" is really what made him.

(After apprehending Butt-head.)
Agent Fleming ( voice of Robert Stack ):
"Agent Hurley, I want you to give this scumbag a cavity search! I'm talking Roto-Rooter! Don't stop until you reach the back of his teeth!"
-"Beavis and Butt-head Do America"
He will be missed.

Unsolved Mysteries, true stories of crime and mysterious disappearances, brought Stack
back to TV in 1988, and the popular show continued through the late '90s.
If I saw one hour of television in a week...it was "Unsolved Mysteries".
So long to one of the good guys.

I loved that show. It had murder mysteries and occassionally some interesting paranormal stuff. I am surprised Stack was 84.

What! No mention of his role as the juvenile lead in To Be or Not to Be (1942)?
