I honestly don't get the baby/exhaustion thing, and we have two children, and are working on 2-3 more (not all at one shot, please.)

Yes, the early sleep deprivation days are pretty rough. But, given the choice of a 30 minute nap, or a 15 minute quickie and 15 minute nap, I can guarantee that splitting the difference is going to make me feel a lot better overall than just the nap. I think a lot of moms (especially new moms) get wrapped up in the baby only, and forget about the husband entirely for a good long while. Not being up for intercourse isn't an excuse to deny ALL physical affection from a husband, either. I prefer to keep in mind that such affection is one of the big reasons I AM a Mom, and that if I'd like to be a Mom again, it might be a good idea to keep in practice.

Here's to month three of practicing for child #3. By gum, if you've gotta practice something, this is the thing to work on! Then there's the 40 weeks of excess, followed by a 6 week famine... but what's a total of 24 weeks out of my expected 100 years??

My family has many examples of good husband/wife teams... my folks have seven children (Mom's reason: "unbridled carnal passion, dear."), and my great-grandparents finally gave it up when he was 97, and she was 88--because he kept having mini-heart attacks, and she didn't want to have to explain why he was sitting up reading the paper without his robe on at 3am. And even though he recognized that it was practical, he sure wasn't thrilled about it. :)

Bravo! My Mom and Dad had a wonderful marriage and had to quit due to my Dad's "cardiac insufficiency" but it wasn't easy, and neither of them really liked the idea! That was when he was 79 and she was 78!

The best story I know about them is that they said prayers together on their Wedding night. My Dad's letters to my Mom, during Courtship and vacations when my Dad would send us away for the Summer and he would join us weekends, and then for his 2 weeks of vacation, are still a joy and a comfort to me. I come from a long line of strong Christians, and it embarrasses me that I have, in the past, forgotten to put God in the center of my relationships.

I'm hoping to find someone who will be my partner and my lover until one of us dies. The forever positive person in me is sure he is out there, and I'm working on finding him, that's for sure!

It's most likely a hormonal thing for me and a lot of women. I also have miserable pregnancies too and not much sex drive during those either (of course who wants sex when they feel like crap?)That's why we've stopped at 2 kids. I just don't think my body would forgive me if I made it go through all that again. People always think I'm insane when I tell them that I actually enjoyed the 30 hour labor with my daughter. But it meant the pregnancy part was over so I was so happy to do the whole 30 hours. Through the day my mom insisted that my labor didn't hurt as bad as hers did with me because I would smile and laugh brtween contractions. It wasn't because it didn't hurt like hell though (of course after 12 hours or so I got an epidural so the rest didn't hurt as much) it was because I was just so HAPPY it was about to be done with and someone else could hold that baby! lol Took me about a week to let go of her though and let anyone else hold her.
