They're still reporting every heartbeat of the McVeigh-Nichols prosecutions, but why did the media suddenly drop the story of the "machine gun" shooter at Case-Western Reserve U. last week? Michael Savage was asking this question on his show this week, and a caller said the shooter turned out to be Indian or Pakistani. (?) Could THAT explain why we're getting no more info from the media - - THE SHOOTER DOESN'T FIT INTO THEIR STORY LINE THAT WHITE MALES ARE EVIL AND DANGEROUS AND NUTS, ESPECIALLY WHITE MALES WHO OWN GUNS? So keep telling us about Oklahoma City, Dan and Tom and Peter, we'll have to learn about other shootings (by "politically correct" shooters) from underground news sources.

I would say part of the disparity in media coverage lies in the fact that the Case Western shooter killed one and wounded one and that Tim McVeigh killed 168 and wounded scores more.

A guy ran his car into a utility pole in downtown Cedar Rapids, Iowa yesterday at 1 AM. He died in the crash, because he wasn't wearing his seatbelt. His car was a 1989 Mercury Topaz, which is one of those with the automatic shoulder belt and a manual lap belt. He didn't use the lap belt. Bet you didn't hear about any of that, either.

The point is, the C-W story was news while it was happening. Anytime there is a hostage situation where some (evil) man -- white or not -- with a(n evil) gun is threatening (innocent) people, it's news. That's the only reason we heard about it in the first place. Once it was over, it was over. If he (only) killed one person, that's the end of it. I'd guess the media reported it when it was over, and we missed it.

That some would try to turn this into a racial thing because the shooter wasn't white is despicable. It's the sort of thing the other side usually does.

I watched it all unfold on Friday.

Imcompetent Cleveland Police call SWAT units and FBI right after word came out that "somebody" broke into CWRU and started shooting.

Phone number for shooter to call was posted and rebroadcast over radio and television for seven hours asking him to call police. However, nobody knew who he was, nor did they know his name. He was a complete stranger.

Another number was posted for family or friends of shooter to do the same.

Local news reports stated the shooter was carrying a machine gun or assault weapon, was of the "Vietnam" era (meaning angry veteran alert), and was protected from head to toe. One of the various law enforcement agencies (there were several) told the media this guy was a professional. He had "gear" from head to toe.

CWRU President never responded that they knew who the guy way. Nobody dared asked the question about his skin color.

Nobody could get the guy. He was a professional, and the only reason SWAT was able to get him was using heat sensor on the roof of the building.

TRUTH ALERT:
Turns out, the guy is a 62-year-old native of India named Baswana Haulder (check cleveland.com for spelling of his name), who graduated from the school in 1999 with a Masters degree. He was in the Indian army, but I don't remember when. He was a loner and not a nice guy. Seems he carried two 9 mm guns into the school with him, and all he was wearing was a bullet proof vest. On his head, he had a WWII helmet with a wig ON THAT (I guess so he can survive a head wound). SWAT never caught him. He gave up voluntarily because he was hit in the shoulder. It took seven hours.

SWAT claims the inside of the building has no right angles, and the halls curve and dip (perhaps like the roof?), so they couldn't get a good shot at him. Haulder graduated from the schoo, so he knew about the layout. The school layout hindered the rescue.

Turns out everybody at CWRU knew this guy, including the lying President. B.H. was a former student and employee at Case, and he sued the school and a person named Shawn Miller for writing something nasty on his website World Indian Network. School said no such thing took place at the school, so the matter was dropped. B.H. then sued Shawn Miller, and the matter was thrown out of court again.

When B.H. lost on appeal, he threatened to the effect that evil will be visited on those people or something like that.

B.H. went to CWRU on Friday looking to kill Shawn Miller. Miller was there, but got out of the building safe.

Cleveland has been wasting its' terrorism dollars if this is the best we can do. Smart folks would have looted downtown while well over 100 law enforcement folks were at Case.

It's still big news in Cleveland....just not nationally (I suppose). I suspect we'd see a lot more whining like Savage is doing if he were a Muslim....indeed it sounds like someone slipped that possibility into the discussion.

Actually, Halder seems to have been a Hindu. This is immaterial to the fact that he's nuttier than the Planters factory...but were he a Muslim that would also be true.

They had it all: a camoflage wearing gunman, entering a defenseless school, shooting people at random with a "machine gun", legions of black-clad SWAT teams wresting control and protecting the helpless who cowered in rooms behind desks, pictures of helpless fleeing civilians, live TV coverage on National TV, a lengthy search....

... uh, the guy turned out to be a left-wing anti-war radical with a beef, a left-wing graduate of the same school, a 60 year old Indian national with a comprehensive left-wing activist web-site, a left-wing loon...

There's just no telling why the story dropped quickly from sight!

One more thing. Stephanie Tubbs Jones was convinced this was a white man, so she called Mayor Jane Campbell to step in to her press conference and do the obligatory nodding and tsking. She the Dem in Cleveland who hangs with Sheila Jackson Lee. Seems she called the Mayor's cell phone as soon as she touched down in Cleveland and wanted to stick he Fed face in this press conferece at 9:00. She did.

When it became apparent that this guy was not white, the last press conference scheduled for 11:00 was cancelled.
