ASSOCIATED PRESS Stephen L. Soules, 20, of Scottsville was arraigned yesterday in Bowling Green. He was charged with murder late Monday. A second Scottsville man was charged with murder late Monday in the death of a Western Kentucky University student who was attacked and burned in her dormitory room.

Autry worked on campus at a snack shop and also danced briefly this spring at a Bowling Green strip club.Virginia White, Autry's aunt, said yesterday that the family is having a hard time trying to figure out how Autry knew Goodrum and Soules.
"It is crazy," White said. "How did these boys know Katie, and of all those people on that campus, how did they know Katie? It doesn't make sense.
I'm going to guess that they didn't meet her at the campus snack shop.
I'll bet these two degenerates were customers at the club who mistook her smiles at the tips as some kind of interest in their pathetic loser selves.
When they saw her at the party they thought they could pick her up. When she declined their advances they went nuts.
Too bad the state death penalty doesn't authorize execution by burning at the stake.

The affidavit said Autry had suffered third- and fourth-degree burns on her torso, with the most severe in the vaginal area.Possibly trying to burn/destroy DNA evidence from the rape?
