You know I went back just to make sure and I did not see where you told me that your prayers were winging their way to heaven for my son's safe return.

There are millions of illegals. Am I single handedly suppose to report all of them. And when I do just who do I report to? The INS? Oh yeah, they will come running. How about the cops? Nope not them. How about the welfare people? I was told I was racist.

As for my son's, I was only answering in the same vein that I was attacked in.

I know that it comes as a shock to you that the illegals would actually do something illegal, like get foodstamps when they don't deserve them. But now that you know and you have a background in this type of work that you will be out bright and early to catch all these million.

Get real.

I really think that I was misunderstood. I was not complaining about my son's job, per say. He just had a small part time job. One of the reason he didn't try to get a better job was because he had been told he would be deployed. We just didn't know when. I was talking about the millions of illegals that are pouring in. This country can not absorb much more. As I said the $hit will hit the fan.

My reference to King George was really about King George and was not a reference to George Bush. I do not for one minute think that he considers hisself royalty.

As for as Bush's plan. I don't know if we will like it. Will you vote for him even though you don't agree with him? When I wrote him about my concerns on our borders I received a letter outlining how he was looking forward to working with our southern neighbors and how he was trying to get 245i passed. Our government is growing more and more each day. Are we giving up freedoms for security?

I wished that I had never gotten interested in politics. Then I could be like those people on TV when they ask them who the VP is. Duh!!!!

"You know I went back just to make sure and I did not see where you told me that your prayers were winging their way to heaven for my son's safe return."

My prayers are between me and God... I never stated either way... You assumed they weren't... that's a false claim...

"know that it comes as a shock to you that the illegals would actually do something illegal, like get foodstamps when they don't deserve them."

I'm sorry you are uninformed on the laws of this country about the food stamp program... I've stated in this thread that children born in this country can legally receive food stamps regardless of the illegality of their parents status of residing here... If you don't like the laws that govern the program then work to change them...

Nothing you stated in any of your posts was an indication to me that they were breaking any laws... How does your son know they were illegals? Just because they didn't speak English? That's not enough proof for me... I know lots of US citizens who speak Spanish in their everyday walk with life... That may not be common in GA but it sure is in AZ... Again, it was just another false claim you made...

I'm not going to sit idly by and let false claims go unanswered...

The Judicial branch is the body responsible for interpreting the Constitution, not the President. They will make the final judgment.

You are wrong. Nothing I said was false. You just like to put a spin on it.

I bet you do know a lot of people that speak Spanish in their everyday life. And I am certain that everyone of them are legal are you would turn them in. You are too funny for words.

Well there you have it. I said that you did not say it to me as is usual on this forum. But you put on your spin and started screaming false claim. That shot your credibility.

But I do notice that you do not address the question of the illegals. You just state what the law is. That is so funny. Like they are going to follow the law. Their first act here was illegal. Citizens of the United States are the only one who have to follow our laws.

In other words, are you sure you aren't from DU? That's what liberals like to do. Pick something minor and then talk about nothing but that. Anything to get people's attention away from the main issue. Go away.

Chuck is a conservative christian looking out for conservatives

How? By bearing false witness against his neighbor? By asking if the President is the anti-Christ? I can't speak for everyone else but I don't think I need anyone like that looking out for me.

I'm going to vote for Hillary.

As a New Yorker I would be ever so grateful to have her GONE..BUT not at the cost of a national village complete with thatched   huts and the beating of drums.

Please Hold that vote!!

Browne was on the ballot in 49 states and a sub was on the ballot in Arizona due to a law suit.

Huh? I prayed for the troops in Iraq... in fact I have a cousin who is now in Saudi Arabia...

"But I do notice that you do not address the question of the illegals."

What question? Everything you posted either doesn't prove they are illegals or even they are getting food stamps illegally...

And just WHERE in the Constitution do you find THAT little gem??? (Hint: it's not there... the Supremes usurped that power in 1803. It was NOT specified to them.)

The Constitution was written to be understood by the averagely educated man of the time, as the PEOPLE were charged with its interpretation, NOT the courts. Having the Judicial branch of the government (wholly dependent on the Congress and the Executive branches for its support) interpret the powers of the central government is like having a pedophile define what child molestation is...

So, as I said, you're OK with Bush openly violating his oath of office as long as it's just politics, right? And as long as he's a Pubbie. If it were an AGore you'd be all over him for that stuff, right?

>>supplying a tenth of their GDP through AID out of the taxpayer's pocket rather than trade that would beneift both of us.<<

I am not an economist, so I know I may be missing something fundamental when I make a judgement on this issue. My objections to integrating our respective economies:

1. Millions of U.S. jobs have been lost already to imports or production abroad; those displaced find low-paying jobs.

2. Service and white-collar jobs are joining blue-collar ones in being vulnerable to moving where labor is cheaper.

3. Food safety cannot be guaranteed. Produce is grown in unsanitary conditions, and new microbes are emerging in the U.S. from Mexican and South American food imports. Likewise, I would never eat meat from Mexico or South America.

4. Indirect costs of transporting goods back and forth by mega-tractor trailers, such as reduced quality of life, wasteful energy consumption, air pollution, and costs of new highways or maintaining old heavily traveled ones are not worth cheaper consumer goods, to my mind.

5. Integrating makes our economy vulnerable to what happens in these countries.

6. I don't believe the individual consumer would gain much. When one reads the World Bank and WTO literature, one sees vividly that the purpose of total economic integration with the developing world is to spread our wealth to the poor masses, who have overpopulated beyond self-sustenance--'spreading the dollars,' it's called. Surely, this is a noble pursuit, but not at the expense of the American worker or to the diminishment of our own economy.

I am familiar with the economist's take on the benefits of trade without barriers, but I see no signs of these benefits in America thus far, and the downside, to my mind outweighs the advantages.

risa

>>When I wrote him about my concerns on our borders I received a letter outlining how he was looking forward to working with our southern neighbors and how he was trying to get 245i passed. <<

I got the same response, and like you, I was disheartened. Clearly, policy makers, including George Bush, take lightly the popular sentiment (if the polls are accurate).

The illegals have numerous advocacy groups pulling for them, many of whom benefit financially by keeping them here. We have to be just as active in our opposition.

There is an e-mail newsletter published by the Emigration Party whose Web site is at:

http://www.sendemback.org

The content is rich with illegal alien news from all over America. Don Pauly, the author, has committed himself to working at least 5 hours a day on sending back the illegals.

Also are you familiar with these groups:
Project U.S.A.
http://projectusa.org

Federation for Immigration Reform
http://fairus.org

I get their e-mail newsletter, which informs me of actions that need to be taken on various immigraiton issues wending their way through Congress. I then inform my friends and family, who send them on to their contacts.

These groups have been working diligently for years on immigration reform, long before I even knew a problem existed.

regards,
risa
