BUSH BLUNDERS ARE HARD TO KEEP UP WITH
By Pastor Chuck Baldwin May 12, 2003 NewsWithViews.com The foibles and follies of this administration are too numerous to count. With the exception of Monica Lewinsky, they rival anything in the previous administration. Of course, most neocons refuse to notice. Therefore, this column will also be ignored. However, for those who are interested in the truth, here are some of the latest examples of Bush's blunders: *Bush threw his support behind a liberal Republican who supports increased taxes, abortion and additional gun control to be a Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate. That man is Illinois Governor Jim Edgar. Thankfully, Edgar decided to not seek the nomination, but that didn't stop Bush from doing his best to send another liberal to Washington, D.C. Next, watch for Bush to do the same thing in California. *Bush continues his support for the Clinton-Gore gun ban enacted back in 1994. Despite objections from gun groups, including the National Rifle Association, the President is determined to re-institute the so-called "assault weapons" ban that is scheduled to sunset next year. So much for Bush being "pro-gun." *As Commander-In-Chief, President Bush has the authority to establish guidelines and policies for our nation's military. When Bill Clinton became President, he implemented the infamous "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy allowing homosexuals to serve in the U.S. armed forces. Bush has continued that policy. Clinton also introduced women to front-line combat roles. And true to form, Bush continues this reprehensible Clinton policy. In fact, one would be extremely hard-pressed to find any Clinton policy that Bush has reversed! I can't think of a single one. *NAFTA and GATT came into existence early in the Clinton administration. Bush continues those polices and even wants to expand them. He has proposed expanding this agreement throughout the Americas and is now calling for a Mideast Free Trade agreement. Say good-bye to more American jobs; say hello to more foreign goods and to more foreign workers. *Bush is determined to oversee the creation of a Palestinian state. After sending American soldiers to fight and die in an undeclared war against Iraq, Bush wants to create another such country by giving the P.L.O. radicals their own nation. Clinton wanted to do the same thing, of course, but was shouted down by conservatives. Today, those same conservatives sit mute and dumb as Bush sets about to finish what Clinton started. *Speaking of finishing what Clinton started, Bush successfully created the Department of Homeland Security and the totalitarian-laced USA Patriot Act. There is an even more egregious version currently worming its way into law. All this was the brainchild of Bill Clinton, of course. However, he could not accomplish his pernicious plans because conservatives and Republicans would not support them. Now they do. *Bush is likely to invoke Executive Privilege in order to continue the cover-up about what he and other top government leaders knew prior to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Some thirty days prior to the attacks, Bush reportedly received a CIA Intelligence Report which warned, "The attack will be spectacular and designed to inflict mass casualties against U.S. facilities or interests. Attack preparations have been made. Attack will occur with little or no warning." More details are leaking out almost daily. A Democratic Presidential contender, Senator Bob Graham of Florida, says Bush knows much more than he is telling and is demanding that the administration come clean about what really took place. Before that happens, however, Bush will claim Executive Privilege and the truth will be covered up once again. |

I'm not willing let someone make false claims and get away with it... no matter what kind of sacrifice her son is making for this country...
To: Miss Marple
Doing nothing? I just said that I would sit out the election unless Bush shows that he truly is a conservative.
If someone runs against him in the primary that I relate better to then they will receive my vote.
I used the word "Murder" as an example only. No I don't think that Bush has committed murder. Kennedy maybe. But I will say that if any of my family is hurt or killed by a illegal alien then I will hold Bush personally responsible. I remember him putting his hand on the Bible, the same Bible that so many others had sworn on, that he would uphold the laws and the Consttution of America. He has not done that. He is still not doing that.
I'm sorry because I had such high hopes when he won. So you will vote for someone who is ELECTABLE, someone who has already shown that he will not keep his oath.
I cede nothing. I will be their exercising my rights and responsiblilities as a citizen when the $hit hits the fan. And it will. We are wide open to terrorist.
Abrogating? Not at all. I have one son fighting and two more that would go if needed. How about you?
To: Joe Hadenuf
I don't live in San Diego anymore...
I guess I was right... in your opinion its just better that it go unaddressed...
To: georgiabelle
" ...someone who has already shown that he will not keep his oath."
How has he violated it?
To: georgiabelle
"I have one son fighting and two more that would go if needed. How about you?"
What do you mean by this? That loyalty to this country is only provable if you have children who are in the armed services?
To: georgiabelle
"You see, I'm a citizen and I was not eligible for gov't help." Oops, I think you may have overstated your case there, belle. Most rabid "conservatives" don't look for gov't help.
To: marajade
in your opinion its just better that it go unaddressed...Yes, in my opinion, the massive, titanic fraud created by this invasion of millions should go unanswered. Better yet, lets just open up our borders and, and.....Wait a minute, they already are.....
To: marajade
See you marajade, and keep up the good work.......
To: Southack
Where to begin here? Hmmmmmm, let me see. When someone is convicted of a crime and sentenced to prison, then for the duration of his sentence, his right to keep and bear arms is suspended after DUE PROCESS OF LAW. When his sentence is completed, his rights are restored... which is how it should be... and WAS until GCA '68, which is another UNCONSTITUTIONAL piece of roscoe.
But to the BIGGER question, Ronald Reagan was elected twice by landslides, not because of but DESPITE the Republican Party. Why? Because he convinced the American People that he had convictions; that he STOOD FOR SOMETHING... and mostly he did. In 1992, Bush I lost the Presidency because he did NOT stand for anything and in fact stabbed his constituency in the back with his taxes thing and his gun-banning EO. In 1994, the Republican Party swept into Congress on the strength of their claim to STAND FOR SOMETHING... and on the RAT's vote on the AWB. In other words, they won and lost in these cases because of their principles and the LACK THEREOF, in the case of Bush I and the RATs. That the Congressional Pubbies then tried to outdo the RATs in giving Billy Bentpecker more than he asked for is probably the main reason why the Pubbies came close to LOSING control of the Congress...
What that says is that Dubya does NOT have to pander to the middle and left in order to succeed. And that if he DOES, it is at his peril of being another one-term Bush.

To: xbar; marajade
Thanks xbar. I guess this "crowd" doesn't think my son deserves their prayers since I don't agree with them.
marajade, I don't know where you live but no questions are asked here. They aren't allowed to ask if you are a citizen. Their children are put into our schools without any kind of records. Birth certificates, shot records, former school records.
There are millions of them. They are not here legally. They are here to do jobs under the table. You know, that way the employer doesn't have to pay taxes on them. No insurance, no perks, nothing. Now who do you think they will hire? My son? Or an illegal who will take less than half. And yes it's the govts. fault it's that way. Govt.= Bush. He's had plenty of time to close our borders.
To: Joe Hadenuf
Illegals can't get TANF... its a reportable action...
To: Republican_Strategist
These political purists make me crazy. If you agree with them 95 % of the time, the only thing they can think of is that 5% of disagreement, and they want to write you off.
What morons, If they can't get a whole loaf, they'd prefer the nation go straight to hell. .......and be quick about it.
To: georgiabelle
" ...doesn't think my son deserves their prayers since I don't agree with them."
Another false claim... how many does that make in this thread?
To: georgiabelle
All those things you cited are illegal and reportable... why aren't you reporting it? I would...
You have to be here legally to get aid...
It is legal for illegal parents to get legal aid for their children. If you don't like it, work to change it...
But coming on here and spreading false claims isn't helping your cause any...
To: A Citizen Reporter
I'm not a "rabid" conservative. I didn't look for it. I called to see what they would have said. My family took care of me when my saving ran out. Now aren' you glad I didn't use your tax money.
Like I said, I have tried to keep this from becoming a name calling contest.
The sad thing is that in a lot of things I really like Bush. But I just can't support someone who is going completely against things I feel strongly about. No it's not a one issue thing. It's all of them put together.
I think what I would like to see is all of these people on here to make the statement to Bush and Rove that if they don't do what the people expect them to do and what they said they would do then we will find someone that will. I don't understand how you can give up all your rights like that.
To: poet
Oh, I didn't know that. You are so smart, I am not worthy. So very true.
I have big brains and lots of 'em. I'm leasing with an option to buy.
To: jagrmeister
So you're OK with someone violating his oath of office for the sake of "politics"????

Oh sure, we can plainly see how you have tried to keep this from becoming a name calling contest. LOL!

Forgive me for jumping in the middle of this, I realize your post was not addressed to me but IMHO it seems you're letting emotions get in the way of facts. You said your son was in college and working part time as a waiter when he was deployed. Surely he and or you knew he well might be deployed when he went into the military.... Right ? Nor do I imagine that either of you seriously expected his job to be held until he returns... Right ? Moreover, part time waiter pay is pretty much the same no matter whether or not you are a legal or illegal. Its the tips that make the job worth the effort and reliable, well-groomed and personable young people always have an edge in any service oriented workplace. The country is riding on a wave of patriotism and justifibly proud of our military and their resounding successes in Afghanistan and Iraq. So, when your son returns to college he'll no doubt soon find another part time job to help out til he gets his degree. With a degree under his belt he won't be competing for part time work with illegals.
I'm not sure exactly what kind of "plan" you are waiting for President Bush to reveal. One thing the country has learned about George W Bush is that he definately has a plan and he intends to stick to it. He has worked harder and more diligently in the little over two years he has been in office than some presidents have done in 4 or 8 years. And he hasn't had the luxury of being a peacetime Commander-in-Chief. There was much to do and much to un-do. He has brought about alot of change but I guess he just hasn't changed something that you feel strongly about yet so you are ready to jump ship. Well, suit yourself but your pet project could be the next item on his list. I've noticed that so many of his detractors resort to calling him "King George" when they're stuck for facts. He is the President of the United States and that means all its citizens, democrats, republicans, greens and everything in between. If he were "King George" he wouldn't have to deal with the likes of le petite Daschel, Hillary and fair weather psuedo-pubbies he'd just have them beheaded and be done with it.
