milder version of the House Bill
President Bush doesn't support this bill.
From the AP:
WASHINGTON - In a May 8 story on assault weapons, The Associated Press reported erroneously that President Bush favors a bill by Sen. Dianne Feinstein D-Calif., that would permanently ban these weapons. Bush supports renewal of a 10-year ban imposed by Congress in 1994, but he has not said how long it should be extended.

Any politician that supports further gun control loses my vote. End of story. If Jesus came back and said HE supported gun control I would probably have to re-examine my faith. (Fortunatley I have read Luke and know He said, "...if you don't have a sword sell your cloak and buy one...")

There is no need for an extension. Law abiding citizens shouldn't be punished for owning ANY gun for lawful purposes. Then again that's exactly what the gun banners agenda is. Have them explain why they aren't proposing to stiffen sentences for the use of a gun in a crime. No? I thought so. Gotcha!!!

LOL, The AWB Bill will NEVER see his desk. Just what do the Republicans owe the Democrats? They certainly do not owe them for swift passage of judicial nominations, they don't owe them for open minded debate on legislation, what the republicans owe the democrats is to ignore their cries, and refuse to schedule any legislation that the democrats want to debate. That's all that is owed to the RATS

I sure hope it doesn't pass, so I can buy a gun and change the stupid handgrip without having documentation for the guns year of manufacture and import... as if replacing a grip with a pistol-style grip is going to kill all the babies up and down my block just by mere proximity.
Once you read the Assault Weapon ban, you realize how completely silly and ineffective it is... Unless the desired effect is destroying civil rights.

I have read that silly thing and it was a slap in the face of the 2nd ammendment when it was passed into law and it's the same slap in the face now. I can't see Tom Delay scheduling this Bill for debate, so it will sunset by law

I think it's time to confiscate all guns . . .
from all gummint employees . . . and put them back in the hands of the people where they belong. An idea whose time has come.

Don't forget Luke 11:21:
