the newspaper weighed in with a whopper of a front-page piece last week, suggesting that Justice Department officials sabotaged sniper suspect John Allen Muhammad's imminent confession in Montgomery County.

Almost a year ago the lovable WashTimes was calling NYT's on its whoppers, which, I confess, were obvious. In this case, for example, it just did not seem reasonable that Justice officials would hose up one of the most important cases to this region in the last decade.

Unfortunately, NYT lies quickly make it into the public consciousness, and become difficult to dislodge with facts. Note how many people still believe the NYT whoppers about the Iraqi museum.
