Pure fiction when applied to most Democrats. Their constituants certainly want to sunstantially raise taxes, to keep their pet entitlements intact, but will settle for a modest increase in taxes and modest cuts in their pet programs.
Republicans on the other hand are feeling the heat. Most are aware that if they relent and increase taxes, even modestly, this will be their last term of office.
Every point in this article screams barrow. Barrow the problem away to another, perhaps better, day.
Actually, for those conservatives who plan to leave California barrowing isn't such a bad thing. Stick around a couple more years because barrowing will keep the business climate alive a while longer. Plan your move without panic or haste and then get the hell out of Dodge just when the state comes knocking to collect their deferred debt.
It will tickle me pink, when the less than 300,000 real, individual taxpayers finally leave and the Democratics are forced to sneak around, behind the fed's backs, and collect an entrance fee from every illegal, Mexican alien they can find. This quasi legal, ragtag group of thugs will be called Coyote Officials on the streets. During the heat of the day you'll find then leaning or sitting on private vechicles near the courthouse.
This reminds me of that Simpsons episode where a Hollywood production company came to town to film 'Radioactive Man' and when they decided to get out of Springfield, Mayor Quimby showed up to demand a "leaving town" tax.
Last year a couple of Republicans helped the Democrats pass a tax increase and as I recall a few lost in the election.
Time to shut down the state and let them have a taste of what a real crisis is!
