Note to FR, from summer: This is an actual, published, print ad appearing in today's NYT, page A-8, top right corner:
ATTENTION: Citizens of the United States
As a citizen of Canada I wish to extend my sincere apologies for the actions and statements of the Canadian Government. The views of the Government most certainly do not align with mine or that of a lot of Canadians. Some of the statements attributed to various elected and un-elected Canadian officials have been very irresponsible and disrepectful. This is not the way to treat friends and allies. For once, I am ashamed to be Canadian.
For the record: I support the U.S. and coalition forces in the Iraq campaign. My sincere condolences to the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Godspeed the troops.
Gordon Stueck,
PO Box 400,
Town of Leader, Saskatewan, Canada S0N 1HO

I was quite surprised to read this, and thought more people should see it. (BTW, I correctly and faithfully typed exactly what this person wrote and published in his NYT ad.) I thought it was a wonderful ad.

I also noticed several upbeat ads in today's NYT expressing very positive feelings and hope about the upcoming USA-South Korean meeting between GW and that country's leader, placed in the NYT from various industries in both the USA and South Korea. In one ad, the South Korean company made a point of saying their current leader greatly admires "Abraham Lincoln."

I am ashamed to be Canadian....
Do not be ashamed of being Canadian! Be ashamed of your politicians and react accordingly - vote them out! Find people of character, folks that know right from wrong, and vote them into office.
That will be appology enough.

"Saskatchewan"Gesundheit!

Lots of Canadians feel this way and are espressing it in a variety of ways. Canada is a divided country. The French Canadians are at fault. Going to Niagra Falls, but will NOT spend one red cent on the Canadian side.

Western Canadians are great. Gordon Stueck even took out an ad in the NYT. As Billthedrill said,
I want to apologize for Bill Clinton. Now we're even.

Summer - in the West, a GREAT many of us feel this way. I have many good American friends and I loathe with every fibre of my being, the Collection of Idiots that speak for this Country and represent it abroad. It is disgraceful. I support your President 100% and actually view him as MY President.
