The infidels deserved to die, say Bali accused ("They are all white people")

Three of the self-confessed Bali bombers have described their 202 victims, including 88 Australians, as sinners and "infidels" and the Sari Club as a "place of adultery".

On the eve of the Bali trial, Ali Imron, the bomb-maker, said the Sari Club deserved to be destroyed because "it was a place of sin".

"The Sari Club was a place of adultery," he said in an secretly obtained interview with London's Sunday Times.

The three men - Imron, 38, his brother, Amrozi, 40, who bought the explosives, and Imam Samudra, 34, the logistical mastermind - said they targeted the club expecting it to be full of Americans, but were not disappointed to kill so many Australians.

"Australians, Americans, whatever - they are all white people," said Imron, who admitted training with Islamic mujahideen terrorists on the Afghanistan-Pakistani border and being a follower of Osama bin Laden. But he insisted the "idea of this bombing did not come from him".

None of the men expressed any remorse for the killings and all expect to be executed by firing squad.

Amrozi will face charges of committing terrorist acts leading to mass murder in the first of series of trials which start today in Bali.

About 35 people have been charged in relation to the bombing in October 2002.

Amrozi said he had been given money to buy explosives and a vehicle to transfer them around Bali in August last year. "I bought the explosives at the chemical shop where I go for fertiliser," Amrozi said.

The three men were interviewed at a Bali detention centre, where they spend their days reading Islamic texts and praying in a bare, windowless cell. They expect Allah to look after their families when they are dead.

"Look, this is jihad and because I am doing it, Allah will look after my children and my wives much better than me," said Amrozi.

Imron and Samudra have written books about the bombing which they hope will raise funds for their families and Islamic teaching. Imron's book will be called A Defence of the Bali Bombing.

"My lawyer will arrange the printing and marketing," he said. "I asked him to distribute the income equally for my family, for Islamic teaching and for the poor."

Imam Samudra, who helped select the Sari Club, said he decided to attack "infidels" after reading about discrimination against Muslims in Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine.

The bombers picked the Sari Club because it was off-limits to Malays and Indonesians, he said. In fact, 38 Indonesians were killed in the bombing.

"There is a lot immorality in Bali," Samudra said. "It is a place where drug dealers, local and international, do their transactions."

Samudra, who is married with four children, said he had studied jihad, or holy war, in Malaysia and terrorist training in Afghanistan, where he had listened to bin Laden's speeches and sermons.

"But I wasn't inspired to do jihad by him or his teachings," Samudra said.

No it is not that we are too stupid. If you do the research on international media, as apposed to being influenced by the media here that want to be proved "right" that the war was "wrong", these people are an extremist minority. I have spent many years in Inonesia and the people are some of the most warm welcoming people in the world, up their with the Irish who also had the IRA. So please don't be mislead by these troublemakers.
We need to take strong disciplinary action to these extreme groups around the world and try and keep all those who are our friends, our friends. We will die if we turn those who are moderate, against us also. We do not have the resources or the desire to fight the whole of the Muslim world and I, as many, in no way would want to. Deal with the criminals that do this not the population that cradle and love there children the same way we do here.

It is believed that 100,000 were trained in the camps. Now they outsource their training with the break down of their central base in Afghanistan, to the many different terrorist groups such as the one mentioned in this article. So far it looks like Indonesia, Malaysia, Philipines, Soviet Union, Venezuala, Morroco, Iran, Pakistan, England, Saudia Arabia, Germany, America etc, etc, etc. Remember these are terrorists that MOST of these countries are apposed to also.
