[IMRA: Israel Radio reported this morning that security sources say the terror cell that enjoys refuge in Arafat's Ramallah office is responsible for a series of attacks. They left from Arafat's office and returned after the attack. It is noteworthy that Zion David was hit by a shot to the head - possibly an indication of the good training the terrorists received in the past. Part of the new program is for the CIA to train a new generation of Palestinians in marksmanship.]

... Israeli, 53, killed in shooting attack near Ofra

An Israeli man, 53, was killed in a shooting attack near the West Bank settlement of Ofra early Sunday morning.

Zion David, a resident of Givat Ze'ev and father of six, was apparently driving to work in the area when gunmen opened fire on his vehicle about 500 meters north of Ofra. He was hit in the head by the gunfire and lost control of the vehicle, which then flipped over.

Security officials believe that the gunmen came from PA Chairman Yasser Arafat'st compound in the West Bank city of Ramallah, and that they are hiding in the Muqata, Israel Radio reported Monday.

"We arrived at the scene and found a vehicle overturned in a ditch," a Magen David Adom paramedic told Israel Radio. "When we went into the ditch we found a man wounded by gunfire, which caused the vehicle to overturn, and killed him at the scene."

Both Fatah and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed responsibility for the attack.

Pinchas Wallerstein, head of the local council, told Israel Radio that such attacks were no surprise in light of the current visit by U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Eyewitnesses said that shots were fired on the vehicle from both sides of the road. The gunmen also fired at another Israeli vehicle, but no one was injured in this attack.

Israel Defense Forces troops were operating in the nearby village of Silwad, where the gunmen were believed to have fled.

PLC Rep. Qadura accepts that terrorists came from Arafat's office

During the course of a live interview this morning broadcast on Israel Radio, Palestinian Legislative Council Fares Qadura (Ramallah District) was asked to comment on reports that the terror cell that murdered Zion David yesterday (during U.S. Secretary of State Powell's visit) is based in Arafat's Ramallah office and returned to Arafat's office after the attack.

Rather than challenge the veracity of the charge, Qadura replied, in perfect Hebrew, that "there is violence from both sides."

Yasser Arafat has been sitting in the office for more than a year in order to provide sanctuary to the terrorists.

Anybody know what this means?? What does the CIA have to do with Palestinians?

If Israel wiped out that whole rat's nest, no one would ever miss them. (Except the politicians who use the "plight of the poor Palistinians" for political purposes.)

The CIA during the Oslo accords trained a number of Palestinian "police" in sniper tactics. The theroy was the "police" would then be able to kill terrorists.

However they used the training to kill Jews instead. Palistinian "Police" have been killed mid terror attacks in uniform, using guns issued them thanks to the United States.

The strange thing is after Oslo, when Arafat got free land, diplomatic immunity and billions in aid and had to do nothing in return, we seem to want to play the fool again and do Oslo all over, this time for two years instead of seven.

The result will once again, (well already has), result in the death of innocents, while American tax dollars are sent to pay the killers.

Can anybody figure out why we are doing this? Does the State Department hate Jews so much that it is willing to pay Arafat to kill them?

The CIA trains the Palestinian security services, including snipers. Part of the deal is a new round of training.

I totally understand your point.

I have written letters to the Senators in my state and documented the same thing you are saying, with no response from either of them.

Its also illegal under US law to support any regime that embraces terrorism. I would figure that any " head of a provisional state" who has terrorists reporting to them fits that bill. Why dont we call it what it is and take appropriate action?

Why do we continue to drag Arafat around in order to appease the Arabs? We dont need to apologize for the world class tail whipping they have taken at our hands after the stunts they have pulled in the last few years.

Our military fought Palestinians in the battle of Baghdad, and they cheered at 9-11-01. They declared solidarity with Hussein and prayed for our destruction. Lets just write off the fools and be done with it. They arent worth saving.

I didn't know that we did this. Even I know that was a stupid thing to do. It seems that the left supports the Palestinian's & the right supports Israel. Thus, we send mixed messages to the world & end up supporting both parties. The politicians sit on the fence & smile while people die. The Palestinian terrorists use our tax dollars against us.
