And here I thought that when people were saying junk food was next after big tobacco it was just hyperbole.

But doctors and government researchers believe... There's that weasel phrase again.
These clowns all go to the same school!
"Doctors and government researchers"???
All 4 of them?
The ones on therapy?
The ones in the corner hoping no one can find them and realize that they never show up for work?
Who exactly?
A hell of a thin thread on which to suspend a hit piece!

So many things come to mind to say.. If you live long enough, you'll see people doing all sort of moronic things. Rush was right. "Kill all the lawyers" doesn't seem such a bad notion. Planters should be headquartered in California because percapita it has more nuts (morons) than anyplace on the planet only seconded by New York. That should do for now. Wait, one more, Liberals should be suid across the board for being a public nuisance.

Well I'm not defending this ridiculous and frivolous lawsuit. But I agree that trans-fat is not good for your system and it should be included on food labels so that people who want to avoid it can avoid it.
I gave up eating "processed" supermarket foods some time ago and I feel fantastic. Basically I avoid all supermarket foods whose list of ingredients reads like a chemistry science paper. I just stick to whole foods in their natural form such as meats, fish, vegetables, fruits and nuts. And beer and wine, of course, which are also natural products.
Now people have a right to stuff themselves with Oreo cookies and Fig Newtons if they want. That's why I think this lawsuit should be tossed out as being frivolous. But I would like to see trans-fat appear on food labels.
BTW, why do so many American food companies and fast-food restaurants have to put so much crap in their food products? Why can't they use honey instead of corn syrup? Or olive oil instead of palm or coconut oil? (Olive oil being very low in saturated fats.)

But doctors and government researchers believe it is linked to several debilitating diseases and might be one of the worst ingredients in the American diet -- in part because we eat so much of it without knowing. You can't argue with the health nazis on this one because they're right. Substitute the word "arsenic" for "trans fat" and the argument becomes crystal clear, as in "arsenic provides crispiness in an oreo cookie."
Trans fat works slower than arsenic, but it's deadly.

I don't give my kids stuff with transfat if I can help it. They get stuff with butter. I think the studies are very interesting. Lawsuit? Puke. Let the consumers decide.

The Caliban deems this important. What a bunch of twinkies!

All parents that have children in the public schools should file a class action lawsuit against the state for supplying dangerous and deadly food to their kids in the school lunchroom. All low income parents who have their kids on the free or reduced lunch program should also sue the state for attempted murder. They know all that govt. cheese and milk is full of obese causing fat. The state makes the menu of food that is served and is therefore responsible for their eventual death.
