It surely would be nice to find the actual weapons instead of the factories that produced them.
There's little doubt that the Iraqis either hid them or destroyed them, but evidence of that can and should be found as well.
What really torques me, though, is the Russian position on this. They don't want to lift sanctions against Iraq until the UN weapon inspectors certify that there are no WMD, but they opposed the war because there was no proof of WMD. Which is it?

I hope I'm wrong but I just have a nervous feeling that the reason we're not finding this stuff is that it has already been placed into the hands of the people who will ultimately use it, probably against us.

Even it's destruction would leave evidence--I can't see how fire does away with radiation and you can't just burn chemicals to hide them since it leaves a residue.
