She's from Colorado, I think.

Re: the quote in the photo

Speaking from experience, going north to college isn't necessarily a bad thing. It just gave me more reasons to appreciate Texas!

But on another level, I am a bit concerned with the decision making ability of the current generation of Bush girls. Noelle, the twins, now Lauren....they're starting to remind me of the Kennedy boys of the 70's - 90's.

At least George P seems to be on the right path.

The point is not that she's funding terrorists who dynamite research facilities because they perform experiments on lab rats, nor is the point that many local chapters of the ASPCA perform something other than the necessary work of euthanizing the stray dogs and cats our society can't afford to feed [although I'm sure the local Vietnamese & Cambodian populations would be more than happy to offer a competing solution to that problem].

The point is that she's being slowly and surely sucked into a most insidiously corrupting lifestyle, and her presence at a function like this is warning that she could be headed down the road to disaster.

Just because a person's name ends in "Bush" doesn't mean they walk on water. After his loss in 1992, G.H.W. Bush urged the GOP to drop its opposition to abortion [recall that he had been pro-abortion prior to being chosen as the Gipper's running mate in 1980]. Barbara Bush has always been pro-abortion, as has Laura Bush.

Neil Bush was involved in the Silverado fiasco. Columba Bush was arrested by Customs officials for trying to smuggle $19,000 worth of luxury fashions into the country. Noelle Bush is a drug addict who has been in and out of trouble with the law her entire adult life.

Granted, to the best of our knowledge, no Bush has ever murdered a campaign supporter at Chappaquiddick, or raped a campaign supporter in a Little Rock hotel room. But for those very sorts of reasons, we, of all people, should be profoundly suspicious of dynasty-worship.

Interesting observation, although I hope you are wrong, it is something to keep an eye on.

Lets hope they grow out of it, looking at their parents one can expect an eventual awakening to reality.

What's wrong witht the Bush twins? Aside from a little bit of drinking (which most of us have done, even before the legal age) I haven't heard that they've done much wrong.

This is SO silly.

But, Slick this whole post begs the question........are you FOR cruelty to animals, or are you just hostile toward anyone with the last name Bush?

I'm just saying that her presence at an event like this raises a big red warning flag. This is the same crowd that Barbara Streisand, Chrissy Hinds, Chelsea Clinton, Madonna, and the Dixie Chicks run with [and that Princess Di ran with before her premature demise].

This is NOT a good sign.

An event like WHAT?

Answer my question......are you seriously OPPOSED to protecting animals from cruelty? Can't you see the difference between an organization that protects animals and one that worships them?

Come on! Red warning flag? ......silly!

She may be messed up because she spends her life with models, and all the trappings of living on a totally superficial level....I don't know, because I don't know much about her....... but this......this is completely irrelevant.....to anything.

There is nothing at all that bothers me about a person who would take part in an ASPCA fund-raiser. They are an organization that does very good work. I refuse to abandon good causes to the left where their purpose would get twisted... I for one applaud her for her heart to support this.

Please! Tell us how they should live their lives. Maybe I can apply some of your cookie cutter wisdom to my life as well.

Good grief. Being involved in a fundraiser for the ASPCA does not make one an animal rights activist. It perhaps shows one has compassion for homeless pet species, but that is not at all the same thing.

I am obliged to concur. Though I do hunt and fish, I am also a supporter of the ASPCA. I also rescue abandoned and abused domestic pet animals.

That said, I ask the more sensitive members of the audience to please avert their eyes now.

They remind me of girls that are a lot like I was in college.... Partying a bit is pretty normal, it is their lives with secret service and cameras everywhere that is not normal. They'll be as fine as you can be, growing up the way they have.

Humane Society sent an official representative to the PA Re-Wilding Conference in February. She gave a presentation on ways to mitigate animal deaths on roads, but made very clear their preference is the Wildlands alternative - eliminate roads for the benefit of animals. Susan Hagood was her name.

I heard Susan Hagood of the Humane Society with my own ears at the PA Re-Wilding conference this year. Dave Foreman, founder of EarthFirst was their keynote speaker.
