This is not a vanity, it is first hand reporting, the most valuable kind! Thank you and your son!

Yep ... and I will have it up on the site in the next 10 minutes ...
PRESIDENT ON THE BRIDGE!
To: Jeff Head
I will be pinging from another thread where apparently the White House has promised not to use these pictures in 2004.
Well, you and we are not the White House.

His comment was no, not really, were always cleaning that 'damn boat'. LOL!!! I'm guessing he was more than a little proud of that fact.

FYI...
030501-N-6817C-040 Pacific Ocean (May 1, 2003) -- President George W. Bush takes a tour of the Bridge during a his visit aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). The President is conducting a visit aboard ship to meet with the Sailors and will address the Nation as Lincoln prepares to return from a 10-month deployment to the Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. My son also reported to us three weeks ago that they would be home on May 6th and that we could make plans accordingly. Thus hotel room, plane and car reservations and even tickets to take in the Mariners, were all made, before we knew that the President would be speaking. They arrived home on schedule. This dispels Democratic lies that the trip by the President delayed the trip home of the arriving ship.I'm so glad you included this. From me, this is the first proof positive the ship's arrival was NOT delayed by President Bush's visit.
Damn RATS been screaming and bitching and whining that the visit delayed the sailors' return to their families. You KNOW they had to know they were lying. DAMN RATS!!!!!
And how smart of the Pubbies not to try and correct the record. They don't have to. The record has corrected itself!
Thanks to your son, Michael, for his service to our country and to you for posting this.

That pic is now on the site ...
HERE.
Just scroll down to it.
... and you are right, we need these pictures out there everywhere.
I am afixing my commemorative stamps to every piece of mail I send. I'm getting quite a few orders for them and hope to flood the US mail with pictures and the annotations from this eventful and masterful historic operation.

Thanks to your son for serving and thank you for being there for him when he returned. In the almost 30 years of my service I never once had the HONOR to have the C-in-C come aboard my ship, I envy your son. Thanks for sharing what EVERY NAVY MAN KNOWS about scheduled return home dates.

I am curious that your text stated "most of the ..." [crew] was happy to see the Prez on board. Did your son mention that some of the crew grumbled?
Well, yes he did mention that. After I questioned him on it, his comment was:
"Pop, there were 5,000 guys on board the boat. There's bound to be a few assholes."
