Today the Question of the day for Fox and Friends was....
Bush and Blair? Should they win the nobel peace prize?
It was early this morning and Brian and Kiran were taking calls. Each caller seemed to think that Bush and Blair should get the prize.
But then a caller said...exactly like this I kid you not.
Caller:
"I uh remember uh Bush 1, and well during Reagan Administration, uh yeah I don't think George Bush should uh get this award. Uh...remember during the Reagan Administration uh oh yeah we sold missle technology to Iraq"
Brian
"Ok well first of all that was a tactical decision. You have to remember that this was during the cold war. This was during the Iraq/Iran war and we wanted to make sure that Iran did not get all the oil at that time. I am sure that would not happen today."
Then Brian was asking a guest about the Israel/Palestinian situation and he said
"Yesterday there was a Hamas leader shot in the middle of the street. How are going to convince these groups like Hamas and Hizbollah to stop this kind of thing."
And then my favorite from a couple days ago when the announcement that this guy Attash had been captured...Brian said...
"Here is a shock, he's missing a limb.
LOL!
yes, forgot the 'perky'. . .and she is truly, full of perk. . .
. . .Prayers here for her best. . .
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my infrequent FoxFan list.

Actually, I believe that we didn't ever sell Iraq any military hardware or technology. What I understand we did for Iraq during the Iran/Iraq war was to provide them intelligence, including detailed satellite info, so that they could thwart Iranian military plans. Keeping Saddam in place was viewed, at the time, as the lesser of two evils.
One of the problems of conservatives is that we too often grant the premise being floated by the left, as opposed to simply calling it the lie that it is. Lot's of myths have been allowed to become accepted fact this way. The left never lets a statement by our side stand, regardless of it's truth. They almost always dismiss any assertion of fact that supports our point of view, either by attacking the source or simply ignoring it. We give credance to their arguments by engaging in what we consider honest debate. We also hate repeating ourselves, so even if we've shot down a bad idea 100 times we eventually get tired of arguing the point and move on, thinking we've "won."
Every statement of "fact" by every leftist must be held up to critical scrutiny. Every time.
