Hey, Flyboy! Women voters agree: President Bush is a hottie!

I had the most astonishing thought last Thursday. After a long day of hauling the kids to playdates and ballet, I turned on the news. And there was the president, landing on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln, stepping out of a fighter jet in that amazing uniform, looking--how to put it?--really hot. Also presidential, of course. Not to mention credible as commander in chief. But mostly "hot," as in virile, sexy and powerful.

Women's suffrage was also correlated with and linked to abortion rights, birth control, AND Fabian Socialism.

I meant exactly what I said. You too said the same thing, by your own admition, at least once in your life. LOL

Of course, it won't happen; however, since far more women vote for Dems, than for GOPers, it isn't really such a horrid idea.Just think about, in the abstract. :-)

He ALWAYS walks with a strange gait. I won't NOT vote for, for that reason; it's just something I've noticed. I don't know WHY he has a peculiar walk and don't care; I just know that he does.

No matter WHY a woman or a man " swoons " over someone else's looks, it is still a silly reason to vote for such a person. It is also more than silly, other than in personal relationships, to have someone's looks become transform into hormonal yearning, because one likes / agrees with what they say/do.

As they say: " BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER "; yet, that should have NOTHING at all to do with electing anyone.

* sigh *

Yes, so will I " take every advantage " we can get. OTOH, it doesn't do " our " side much good, to have some people behaving/thinking like dim Dems. :-)

"soccer moms" - Bingo!

And ... I read here on FR that x42 was beginning to notice that he's not able to draw the crowds he used to ... his popularity is beginning to wane ... his fees are beginning to drop ... his invites are beginning to slow down.

Awwwwww! Isn't that tooooooooo bad!

However, it would explain why the sight of Bush - so gorgeous; so in charge; so loved; so honored ... had to drive x42 crazy. x42 must have turned Hitlery loose to send out the whiners.

The reason I suspect this attack about the carrier was Hitlery's doing is because it's the usual suspects in the whining dept.; Bryd, Waxman, Walters, and Eleanor Clift.

Once given the vote, most 18-21 year olds don't use that right. Most would probably favor the old laws, which allowed 18 year olds to drink alcohol, but not to vote. Ergo, I threw that in for kicks.

Women, who vote because they think a candidate is " sexy " / " a hottie ", tend to NOT delve into / care all that much about the candidates' opinons/ positions. Sean Hannity has Thursday Man On The Street inteviews. When asked WHY they are Dems, most of the females say because of abortion.

The entire " soccer mom " thing was made up by the media and they ran with it, until everyone took it as " gospel ". All of the women, I know, who have had kids in soccer, are CONSERVATIVES, who did not once vote for X42 !

Okay, here's how we should conduct political debates, from here on out...have the candidates come out in jockstraps ( Bikini bottoms, for the women ) bodies oiled, muscles flexing and discuss their positions on tax cuts, etc. ! That'll wake up the populace. LOL

As an alternative, each candidate could wear burkas, until after the election. That way, ONLY their postions on things would be important. :-)

Paul Newman was married to someone else , prior to his marriage to Joanne. No one knows whether they have always been monogamous. His politics have always been lefty and his son died from dope. His charity work is also riffe with fraud !

Integrity ? You know little about Newman. He's also about as " nice " as Martha Stewart. Just ask those who know him in Conn. !

No, Presidnt Bush the younger ALWAYS has a strange gait; it wasn't the wearing of that flight suit.

I'm glad he wore it, I LOVED the landing, his speech, and ythe fact that the sailors seemed genuinely happy to see/hear him and have him on their ship! That isn't a problem for me at all.

Yes, I call the drooling sychophants what they are. It's an embarrasment; even though I know that those FREEPERS like his politics for the most part, too. It's that mind set, which does offend me. Just like the same people, who go into spasms of whatever, over what Laura wears. Hitlery! dressed better. Laura hasn't a clue and neither do her handlers. That's fine with me; I don't care what she wears, as long as it is neat, clean, and appropriate to the occasion. Most First Ladies didn't understand " fashion " and some of those who did ( Dolly Madison,Mrs. Lincoln, and Nancy Reagan ) were all highly condemned for it.

You can call it " harmless fun ", till the cows come home; it isn't really. It's silly and demeans those who do it and ALL women, by extention. Yes, the little boys, here, who do the Anne Coultur and "FNC BABES" and the T&A Anna Kornakova (sp?) things here, are also in the same category!

I shan't ever " join the party "; it's brainless, inane, banal, and most assuredly NOT " fun " !:-P~~~~~~~~~~

The original women's suffrage movement was NOT associated with abortion rights.

You may have meant what you said about giving up your right to vote, but I was kidding with my then teenaged son who was as frustrated with soccer moms going gaga over algor as HIS mom was. Even HE had the maturity to understand that disenfranchising half the American population was decidedly UNAmerican.

IMO, your willingness to disenfranchise yourself (and ME) because there are women who vote without thinking reflects poorly both on your concept of America.....what it is, and what it should be. Our right to vote is one of our most valued possessions, and your cavalier approach to giving it up.....no matter how high minded (and arrogant??) your reasons may be.....calls into question your ability to think any more soundly than the 'arousal gappers' whom you wish to disenfranchise.

President George W. Bush walks the deck of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln after landing there aboard an S-3B Viking, as the carrier steamed toward San Diego, California, May 1, 2003. From the deck of the carrier, Bush was to address the nation to say that all major combat in Iraq has ended. Bush will spend the night on the carrier, which is stopping off in San Diego before heading for its home port in Everett, Washington. The Lincoln has been at sea for nearly ten months.Kevin Lamarque/Reuters)

Do you ever HAVE fun??

I printed off this article to share with my husband (of nearly 27 years), and he found it, as did I, both amusing, and insightful. What's wrong with you to miss the very point of it, and to not see the humor in it?? (btw, my husband also shares my admiration for the President, primarily for his political positions, and strength, but also because of his winsome personality..... and he doesn't mind a single bit that I like the way the man looks).

As to the 'strange gate'.....one of the many things my husband has in common with the President (along with his strength, sensitivity, great sense of humor and capacity for affection) is his slightly bowlegged and VERY masculine walk.

But how very strange it is that you are making so much of such a trivial issue. In fact, I find much of what you say very strange.

You don't seem to have a multi-dimensional personality at all. There is no conflict in commenting on the President's tie and discussing your views on the issues facing us, and the positions he takes. Most of us have the depth and capacity to be able to kid around, and yet take issues seriously. You apparently don't, but curiously look down on those who are more complex than you are. Besides which, you obviously have paid quite a bit of attention to what the President and First Lady wear, so I'm a bit confused as to why you feel it necessary to criticize others who do the same.

I will also say to you.....as I have to others who throw around the word 'sycophant' as if they know what it means.......look it up in a dictionary. You'll see that the definition doesn't fit a single person around here, and that, in addition to misunderstanding the people you are condemning, you are misusing the word.

My advice for you is to lighten up a bit, cut out the condescension toward those of us who are more complex and multi-dimensional that you apparently are........and stay away from threads like this where you KNOW you're going to be offended by those of us brainless, inane folks who dwell so far beneath you.

"Integrity ? You know little about Newman. He's also about as " nice " as Martha Stewart. Just ask those who know him in Conn. !"

Maybe I'm wrong about Newman, although I can't see what possible bearing on his integrity a prior marriage has-- by that standard, half of the American public lacks integrity. And, I know he's liberal but one can be an honest liberal without being a "lefty". I didn't notice him standing up with the anti-American Hollywood crowd, for instance. Regardless, though, you get my point on Bush.

He was in his third month of reading a book about the Six Day War

Is this a brilliant line, or what?

My only problem with Bush in that pic of him in the Flight suit is that he looks like he is wearing "hi-waters",(trousers that are too short).

It's only because he still has his g-suit on. Look again; when he romoves his g-suit, the legs will fall.

Actually, what we want is to have the "dim Dems" vote for Bush, for whatever reason. ;)

No matter WHY a woman or a man " swoons " over someone else's looks, it is still a silly reason to vote for such a person.

You are missing the point. I'm saying that what makes us vote for him and what makes us get giddy over him are coming from the same source: that we feel he is a good leader and an honorable man. The resultant vote & swoon (not unlike shock & awe) are sister results, NOT cause and result.

If you keep trying to find a way to say "nevertheless" and offer another preachy soliliquy on how we should not find the Prez attractive, I'm going to begin to wonder if this isn't just your way of making sure everyone knows how superior you are.

Lord, woman!

(or man)

I hate when people say "get a life." It usually just means that you are wasting your time in a different way than they are wasting their time.

But, it has become a bit pathetic, your clinging to this thread to post your discredited and unpopular opinion.

Can't you get some attention another way? I mean the peace protesters resorted to taking their clothes off for photo ops.

On the Barbara Bush bio the other night a picture of Clinton was shown when he was running the first time. As a woman I could never understand his attraction. He looked and still looks "goofy". It must be the attraction to "power".

The race in 1960 was so close, particularly in Texas (Johnson' state) and Illinois (the Daly Machine) that Nixon was urged to contest the results. He refused on the grounds that it could cause a constitutional crisis. Someone recently called Nixon a "true Patriot" recalling the election.
