Hey, Flyboy! Women voters agree: President Bush is a hottie!

I had the most astonishing thought last Thursday. After a long day of hauling the kids to playdates and ballet, I turned on the news. And there was the president, landing on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln, stepping out of a fighter jet in that amazing uniform, looking--how to put it?--really hot. Also presidential, of course. Not to mention credible as commander in chief. But mostly "hot," as in virile, sexy and powerful.

You are wrong on this-- I never even noticed Bush was good-looking until I came to know his leadership strength. I was VERY lukewarm on him during the campaign, and only moderately supportive during the first part of his term. It was only after 9/11, when his courage and steadfastness won my whole-hearted and fervent support that I came to notice his looks and charm. Same with Don Rumsfield, by the way. ;)

It's the old Paul Newman attraction-- Newman is really no better looking than other guys, but his integrity and devotion to his wife, Joanne Woodward, make him ENORMOUSLY attractive.

CHARACTER COUNTS.

X42 may have been over-sexed, but he was NEVER sexy! Too fleshy, too puffy, too soft, too bleary-eyed, too lecherous, too disgusting.

Actually you could just start by taking your wife coffee in bed, as Bush does.

or a Diet Coke ;-)

however, there IS a contingent, here, which has drooled over the president, endlessly, for years. It ain't pretty and neither is it " harmless fun ".

Yeah....it IS harmless fun, because the intelligent, learned women who have been admiring the President here 'for years' are all well versed and conversant on critical Conservative issues, deeply concerned about character, morality, and spiritual integrity, LOVE the fact that he is so in love with Laura, and all consider his appearance to be completely intertwined with his character.

What I'm worried about are those who, now that they've seen what we all knew before, that the man is VERY masculine.....will degrade the integrity of the comments made by his admirers here because ALL they care about is appearance...... but is simple minded and narrow for you to assume that the Conservative women on this forum who find him attractive are simply 'droolers' (and therefore inferior to you?). And in addition, it's flat out wrong.

btw, my husband was every bit as impressed by his air carrier landing as was I (and as were thousands of secure men who appreciate a man's man......which our President is). He looked GOOD in that flightsuit, and I am amazed that it bothered anyone except a RAT. I want pictures of him in that flightsuit splattered all over newspapers, and articles like this printed over and over again to drive the Rat party even further into insanity. They're the ones who've operated on the principle that looks are the only thing that matter, and NOW they're being beaten by a guy who's driving women crazy with his looks. It's GREAT!

This is FUN, nopardons. Join the party!

(Oh, yeah....he walked kind of funny because of those harness thingies between his legs).

If I were to do a search, how many posts would I find about how repulsive is Hillary Clinton, physically? Not that I wouldn't agree, but it is certainly relevant to 99% of the male posters here on FR, and I never hear from huffy fellows about how looks don't matter and women are so dumb for caring about then.

Wow. Excellent point. I never thought of it that way before.

I guess I have mixed feelings about this. I'm tired of hearing that women are just dum-dums who vote with their ovaries for whomever is the hunkier candidate. I'm tired of hearing that women should lose their right to vote. But I live in a blue zone, and I do see Dem women drooling over Clinton all the time, and how "sexy" and "charismatic" he is! I know Dem women vote for reasons like that, but I really don't think we Republicans do. If President Bush looked like the Elephant Man, but was smart, a great leader, etc., we Republican women would still vote for him. The fact that he is an attractive man is just the icing on the cake for most of us. And if that attractiveness causes some soccer moms to vote for him, I'll take it!

But of course, this could turn out to bite us in the butts. Whomever runs against President Bush is going to be (at least in the Dems' opinion) good-looking, because they figure they have to run a good-looking candidate in order to stand a chance against George W., especially now. Presidential elections could turn into beauty contests, as both the Republicans and Democrats try to outdo each other by choosing the handsomest candidate, with nothing else mattering!

Some people feel it necessary to enhance their intellectual credentials by pretending they only care for serious things.

In this aspect, they are like the women's rights advocates who refuse to wear make-up.

I really don't care to discuss this further, because long ago, ohioWfan, I learned to use my "ignore" button on certain posters who attack those of us who like the President's appearance. It is pointless to argue with them. Just hit that "ignore" button in your brain and move on. Makes your BP go down, too!

I am just having SO much fun with the panic mode the Rats are in MO!

OBVIOUSLY, voting for a man because he is "Hot" is beyond stupid......but there are so many empty headed women out there who just might vote for him because of this. (Of course there are a whole slew of empty headed men who have other stupid reasons for voting for a candidate, but that's another subject...... :o)

The Rats cultivated and nurtured this environment, and now they are being destroyed by it.......by a moral, honorable, God-fearing, wife-loving man. (And one who's been nominated for the Nobel prize to boot!)

It's too perfect!

I've said that about 50 times (that Hillary is an average-looking 50ish lady and not nearly so hippy as people I see in Wal-Mart).

But her nastiness does shine through and makes her hard to look at.

Bush's goodness shines through and makes a nice package even nicer.

Lighten up, you people bemoaning the fact that we think he's hot. He is hot. Go off and write meaningful essays or something.

As for Edwards, he has those babyish, Dicaprio-type looks that don't appeal to me.

I don't mind them refusing to wear makeup so much, but, please, emancipated ladies, shave your legs.

(and in a bathing suit, maybe your armpits as well.)

HEAR, hear! bump

That the ladies admire someone good-looking as well as good has set off the Little Green-eyed FR Monsters. It is to laugh, considering how often the FR "intellectuals" post pictures of anorexic giraffes to drool over...

Good point, Miss Marple.

I guess some of us are wise enough to understand that it is not impossible, nor even unlikely to be able to think clearly and rationally, and still have eyes and emotions.

As a matter of fact, women who both think and feel make much more interesting people (and I would guess, better wives).

And you're right, it's the same ideology that seems to make leftist women try to be as ugly as possible, as though that somehow makes them more legitimate as advocates for women's rights.

But then again, think about Molly Ivans and Madeline Albright, and Janet Reno, and Bella Abzug, and Hillary Clinton, and....... they don't have to work too hard to be unattractive to men, now do they? :o)

Jump suits are not for everyone. But it is not just the jump suit that did it for GW Bush. It was his kind smile, his honest attitude, his leadership, his compassion. He is a man with more than just a great body and looks. He is everything bill clinton ISN'T!!!!

"It was duly noted on one of the all-news TV stations yesterday the contrast between the Clinton appearance and the Bush one. The commentator said (and I paraphrase) that the military personnel were respectful but not full of smiles and welcoming as what took place with Bush. Definite "body language" difference - MAJOR difference"

They could barely contain themselves.

Are they ugly because of 'who they are,' or is it the other way around?

Enough philosophy, they're just ugly.
