I wasn't able to locate an e-mail address for Courant Staff Writer Kevin Canfield (the Courant does a great job in hiding these e-mail addresses, apparently). You can send "feedback" on this form:

Of course the fact that the cable networks are businesses that want to make money and therefore target consumer demand is something alien to these ideological Socialists.

Fox Pulling Cable News To The Right *BARF ALERT*Considering where CNN (and the networks) are coming from (the socialist DNC far left), nearly anything Fox did would pull cable news toward the center. What's this author's problem? Is he a liberal scumbag or something?
To: nutmeg
Anything to the liberal left of center is "far right" for these socialists.
Their perpetual whining is getting a bit tiresome, don't you think? lol

"Perhaps the most interesting - and least noted - development in cable news has been the emergence of daily jack-of-all-trades programming that provides news commentary and humor, like MSNBC's prime-time "Countdown With Keith Olbermann." The onrushing tide of news - more than any of us can digest - has made an evening wrap-up program a relative necessity. Jack Shafer, media critic for Slate magazine, says Olbermann's show is the 21st-century answer to the evening newspaper."I'm sorry, but I can't take anyone who likes Keith Olbermann seriously.

At times during the war, I thought Fox was the only watchable news channel. Imus has also been criticizing Fox News. Lately he's been saying how great MSNBC is, but previously he said they were horrible.
To: nutmeg
The news stations respond to the market. They were all a bunch of commies, Fox experimented with a more conservative news channel since no one else was and made a killing. Now everyone else wants a piece of that action. It turns out that the market was a lot more conservative than the news agencies, and he who gives the market what they want makes the money. It is hard to fight economics.
All it required was someone doing something different in the market so that the market could decide for itself. Even some commies are smart enough to subordinate their ideology to the almight dollar when they see the writing on the wall.

Obviously this maggot left wing mediot is suffering from the virus which is more deadly than SARS. This selective Virus only hits the left wing maggots and those few on the far right who hate President Bush 24/7. They hate President Bush so much they want us to lose wars, suffer a massive economic depression, and any other hateful thing they can conjure up.
The deadly virus which destroys all mental capability, reasoning and common sense is the Blinding Bush Hatred Virus.

In the lead-up to the war against Iraq, liberal doves all made pretty much the same point, with some variation: However successful the conflict itself might be, the long-term diplomatic costs of alienating much of the world would outweigh any benefits. This prediction, while questionable, at least had the benefit of playing out over such an extended period of time that it could not be conclusively disproved until its adherents were all long dead. Alas, after the campaign hit a snag, many doves were unable to resist the temptation to crow over the supposed overconfidence of the war plan -- and as a result looked silly a few days later when Saddam Hussein's regime collapsed, to the apparent delight of most Iraqis.
Now, it seems, war opponents are making a similar mistake. The present cause of their crowing is the failure (thus far) of the military to find solid evidence of weapons of mass destruction. Opponents of the war are starting to assert, or at least hint, that the entire rationale for the conflict has been undermined. The notion that Bush made the whole thing up about weapons of mass destruction has taken root on the left and is creeping ever closer to the liberal mainstream. My fellow liberals who have taken up this line are once again making a disastrous misjudgment.

But wait! How could FoxNews be pulling the media to the RIGHT if the media wasn't to the LEFT to begin with? And we all know, cause they've all been telling us for years that the media is not leftist! Kinda makes you wanna go Hmmmmm.....

Don't recall them being too concerned that Donahue was too far to the left.

I agree. Fox is pulling news RIGHT back to the CENTER.
I will not buy the argument FOX is RIGHTWING and everyone else is "objective".
Horse shit. Fox is BALANCED in their presentation. The fact that they have conservatives on as much as liberals **enrages** the "journalistic" community and the media elites so much that they somehow have distorted their thinking to the exagerration that Fox is now cast as an arm of the Republican Party. What a crock.
BTW, did you notice all this was NOT SAID about Fox News Channel until they became #1 and held on to that spot for over a year.

I get the Hartford Courant,it nothing but a left wing rag sheet. All the columnist with the exception of Laurence Cohen are liberals. The rest are all anti-Bush.They all identify with the West Hartford trust fund collecting elite, raising taxes to keep the state employees from paying market prices for their health insurance, the 'victacratic' dole collecting scum who don't want to work. Also the Trinity,Wesleyan,Yale and UConn student and professor leftists, teacher unions, gun control advocates,pro-choice advocates, the list goes on and on.Meanwhile the city of Hartford has turned into a welfare state where about half the residents are on some sort of government dependancy.Hartford is just an example of what government programs can do your city if you want the real elitist liberals to take over.I lived there when I was a kid(pre 1968).The LBJ'Great Society'has wrecked this city beyond fixing.Of course the Courant is pushing for regionalization of the greater Hartford area so the people in the suburbs could get taxed to death to throw more money into this bottemless pit.The real problem is 70% of the inner city kids have been abandoned by their fathers and the government is now their father.
