I know, I know - this is politics. GOP operatives routinely toted up the cost of Bill Clinton's trips to New York City and the man-hours lost to Manhattan gridlock in the service of Hillary's ambition

Uh, Matt you forgot Clinton holding up air traffic at LAX(Los Angeles International Airport) for two hours while he was getting a $200 haircut in Air Force One from Barbara Streisand's hair stylist.

Rep. Henry Waxman of California has asked the General Accounting Office to provide a full accounting of the landing's costs, since the event had "clear political overtones."

Ok, Congressman Waxman. If you want to start down this path, why don't we total up the costs of all those trips of King Billy Jeff I?!

Democrats, inspired perhaps by the trial lawyers who bankroll the party, are acting as if these troops are good prospects for a class-action suit.

Calling John Edwards.

The Dimwits are pathetic! But I love the little buggers wailing in that dark corner they've backed themselves into. Wailing and whining. Music to me ears!

Thanks for the ping, Howlin!

It was great!

I remember being very peeved when Al Gore was running for the Presidency and on the campaign trail he addressed the crowd from a platform of some kind and what was in the immediate background?? Big as life...Air Force One, in all her splender!

I said to my Husband...that's not right! He's using the accoutrements of the Office of the Presidency to make himself look like he is already the President!

We had a call from a friend today reporting her nephew was nearly delirious over getting to shake the Presidents hand on the Carrier the other day. He said Bush went out of his way to accommodate everyone on board.

Matthew Miller is that rare species: a decent and thoughtful liberal. The Democrats should listen to him but they won't cause they're full of hate for President Bush. Its their opposition to respect for our Commander In Chief and our military that strikes most Americans as downright nutty. I don't mean they have to agree with the President's policies; that's their right but by the same token its not asking too much to extend a welcome home to heroes who fought for our country and to offer thanks to the Commander In Chief for making it possible.

"Top-Gun-Gate" won't do; it doesn't have the right sound that a scandal name needs. Maybe they should try "Tailhook Scandal."

Uhhh . . . maybe that won't work either.

"clear political overtones"

According to the legal guy at FOX, Bush would need to promote someone who was running for office - Bush didn't. Or ... Bush would need to have his name on a ballot somewhere - Bush doesn't. Therefore, THIS WAS NOT POLITICAL.

Did Henry Waxman get upset about taxpayer dollars funding political trips when Hillary Clinton was jetting around upstate New York for a year trolling for votes for Senator - when she wasn't even a resident of the state yet?

Let's ask Waxman to tally up the cost of ALL the trips that Bill, Hillary, Chelsea, and their entourage took - ALL over the world!!!

It is so obvious that Blozo Clinton is still running the demoRAT party. One thing the GOP learned during impeachment was that attacking a sitting president is unpopular.

LOL! Thanks for the ping!

Contrast President Bush's very warm and enthusiastic reception on the AH with the eye rolling by sailors who were ordered on deck when Clinton was on one of those carriers (I forgot which one).

A world of difference...

Doesn't the undistinguished Klansman from West Virginia have more important things to do like ironing his sheets, filibustering the President's judicial nominations and scrounging for more pork to send back to the home folks?
