Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, May 7 (Bloomberg) -- Police in the Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh, are searching the city for 19 suspected terrorists who left behind an arms cache after a shootout with security forces, Agence France-Presse reported.
The exchange of fire took place late yesterday as police hunted for the people behind a March 18 bomb attack in Riyadh's Jazeera district that killed one person, AFP said.
The arms found in the suspects' hideout and an abandoned getaway car include 55 hand grenades, 377 kilograms (829 pounds) of explosives and 2,545 bullets, along with $72,957 in cash, travel documents, communications equipment, three automatic weapons and disguises, AFP cited the Interior Ministry as saying.
The gunmen had the materials because they ``intended to carry out acts of terrorism,'' the ministry said. It wasn't clear what they intended to target. Seventeen of the suspects are Saudi citizens, one is a Yemeni and the other has Kuwaiti and Canadian citizenship, AFP cited the ministry as saying.
