UGH..somehow "emerging from the primordial slime" comes to mind. Well, this was published in Vanity Fair supposedly for the "arousal factor."

I just asked my clueless liberal co-worker how he felt about the President's tailhook landing and I thought that maybe *just maybe* as a former Navy avionics vet he would give it a thumbs up. Boy, was I wrong. He started going off about how much we spend to insure the President's security and how the landing was needlesly DANGEROUS (as if he thinks he can really convince me that he is the least bit concerned about President Bush's health and well-being).
My question is: How many more accidents are there with fixed-wing military aircraft than helicopters?
I heard the carrier was too far away for a helicopter transport, but even if it was close enough - is a helicopter really that much safer?
To: Carolina
If that's the best they can do, they are in serious trouble.
LOL!

(If the Democrats impede Bush's process, how can they criticize his result?)

The troops have absolutely no respect for this president!
Senator Byrd-Brain and the grotesquely ugly WaxMAN need to get the hell out of Dodge City!

I suppose marginally safer, although I don't know where you would go to find statistics.
He is just picking up the talking points for this week. Probably if you had asked him on Friday he would have said it was pretty neat. But now all the leftist media have started reminding them how bad this was.
Security was actually less than if he had traveled to a military base. Clinton was on aircraft carriers several times, and not for anything as important as the end of a conflict.
I maintain that what they are really hostile about is the flight suit. They know they have no argument against that. Ha!

Didn't Lincoln take a train to Gettysburg? Pretty dramatic for his day...

Didn't Lincoln take a train to Gettysburg? You are quite right. And did you notice how Bush borrowed a phrase from the Gettysburg Address to support the foundation of a new Iraq? "A government for the people, of the people, by the people - of Iraq". I thought it was very symbolic and patriotic.
How many Dems do you think can even recite the Gettysburg address?

Yeah, its hard to phrase what I want to say so it stays on the board and doesn't get yanked. That's why I put the Clinton visited more ships than Reagan or Bush I.
You aren't spoon are you, I swear that can't be a DU'er saying "Tax cuts for the poor, ONLY" Like the poor pay taxes now, du'h. It has to be somene being sarcastic.

I can absolutely verify I am not "spoon" and did not make a comment about 'taxes for the poor'
I believe in a government of the rich, the well-born AND the able. (Hamilton)

Gettysburg Address? Considering KKK Byrds position on the outcome of the war(civil that is), He would have been booing Lincoln if he had been there. What really pissed him off was the fact that we even have a carrier named after Lincoln.
