True....but sadly, the cockroaches will prevail. I expect the ACLU will take this on - academic freedom, unions, seniority, and every other type of protection that incompetents like this teacher need. He'll be made a hero (ala Larry Flynt), the cop will be fired and cast as a mean southern fat white boy, and they'll make a movie of it all.

Besides, I expect most parents have known all about this all school year. Obviously, they don't give a rip and/or agree with the indoctrination.

I'm not sure why folks even react negatively anymore to these kinds of stories. It's been going on at college level for 50 years and pushed its way into primary, middle, and secondary schools about 30 years ago. I know the only 'outrage' I have left for stories like this is that they do it with my tax dollars, even when I refuse to use their lousy product.

Good point! I would have to ask what orders the janitor has wrt:allowing people/cops enter the premises. I mean the cop could have been a stalker.. I would have to ask...why the janitor let him in.

The truth has to come out. The teachings and projects are of a public nature. I agree with the cop, this was to only way to get the true content and inform the public.

As far as the brave cop...I'm afraid he's lost his job, etc, but to conservatives, he's a hero. He'll find another town with a conservative mindset and he'll do even better there. Thank you officer.

I found the teacher's (Treece) web page at Spaulding High School. I haven't been through it all but it might harbor some clues to this fellow. If nothing else you can always drop him a line and let him know your impressions of world history...

"And you have no problem with leftist teachers indoctrinating students with communist ideologies and posting the photos of Cuban commie leaders while trashing the photo of the president? That's the issue, not the cop."

Did I say that? I did not. As I understand it, these were student-done images, not done by the teacher. I disagree with them, but that does not make them a police matter. You seem to misunderstand some of the rights we have. Freedom of speech does not mean just speech you happen to agree with. If you don't protect freedoms for people with whom you disagree, you have no freedoms yourself.

Some people are a little slow on the uptake. Maybe this will open some eyes.

What I meant is from the time he appears in the office, the school staff would scamper behind his back and stall him internally.

It would be five minutes before he got an escort to the classroom. Time enough to strip the walls.

That's terrible and I hope not! He did what he knew was best at the time... I wish he could have just walked in (unannounced) as an observer during the day and took the pics. ON the other hand..maybe he felt like he wouldn't have been paid attention to if he had??

Then why don't we have prayer in schools? We should, using your logic. A public school is a public place. If people want to put that stuff up, then the public has a right to know about it and determine if that's appropriate for a public place.

Treece said he’s tired of being painted as anti-American simply because he challenges students not to take what anyone – not the president, their parents, or even he – says at face value.

I have never thought it was a teacher's duty to comment on the parent child relationship.  Treece's admission that he tries to get kids to evaluate what their parent say bothers me.

If the child is supposed to evaluate what their parents say, then it stands to reason they are to listen when they want and do whatever they please the rest of the time. Nice work Treece.

I've seen teachers like this.  They sell themselves as the most reasonable person the children have ever met.  Then they push their agenda.  "I don't care what you believe, just make sure you can defend it."  Most kids think, wow, what a cool dude. This guy is very open and HONEST.  If he thinks the president is a putz, he may be.

If Treece is challenged he simply says, "Hey, I'm just teaching kids to think for themselves."  I would disagree.  He is destroying their beliefs system in order to instill his own.  Can his ass.

You don't have to display things like Treece does, to be effective in the classroom.

As for the officer who took the pictures, I do believe he crossed the line.  One the other hand we'd have never been given access to the despicable carp on Treece's classroom walls if the officer hadn't done what he did.  It's a screwed up system that creates a situation where a person has to use subtrifuge simply to investigate what really goes on inside a child's classroom.

The principle is a good example of why our schools are so screwed up.  Is she concerned with the obvious bias of the teacher?  Nope, she couldn't care less.  What bothers her is that her sacred cow has been gored.  "You can't get away with that on MY campus!"  She should follow Treece's lead to the unemployment line.

I really don't think that it's a good idea to have a cop use his uniform and his badge to pursue a political agenda

You are not involved in politics at all are you? This has been going on since the beginning of time.

Could you explain the crime that the cop comitted? Taking pictures inside a public school room at night?

That's possible..I on the other hand have entered for a variety of reasons and did not announce myself to anyone. Just walk directly to My child's room..see?

"I suspect they are too late".....

You may be right for the vast majority of this generation. But I believe this is not the last of these stories. Parents I believe are going to begin to question what goes on in their childrens schools. Maybe there is hope left...I for one will not take the chance. My son will be schooled at home.

right when classes are starting is the best.. a lot of commotion and the teacher is usually standing at the door greeting kids and/or parents. Walk in with your child and start taking the pics..no need to announce why either.

I don't think the office would have allowed him in the classroom or even then, to take pictures.

Joe McCarthy was right. Ann Coulter tells why in her new book Treason.

I've never announced myself before going to "my child's" room. It's insulting and out of line IMHO.

"Then why don't we have prayer in schools? We should, using your logic. A public school is a public place. If people want to put that stuff up, then the public has a right to know about it and determine if that's appropriate for a public place."

People did know, I assume. The students knew. The stuff was out in the open where anyone entering the classroom could see it.

Prayer is another matter entirely. There are some questions regarding prayer in the classroom that are constitutional issues.

Being a leftist, however loathsome that is, is not a crime in the USA. Posting student images that ridicule a President is not a crime in the USA, nor is posting pictures of Castro or anyone else.

The police are about crimes; they are not a political force. Unless some crime has been committed, where is the police's legitimacy in this matter. Obviously the police can come into the school...during school hours. Why was it necessary to sneak around?

Now, suppose the police had snuck into the mayor's office, after being let in by the custodian, rifled through his drawers and found some evidence that the mayor reads Playboy Magazine, for example. Again, no crime. Again, a public building. Again, the cop would have done wrong.

Speech we do not like is protected by the First Amendment.
