PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- Republican candidate for governor Ernie Fletcher has lived a life of high ambition, driven by a restive energy that keeps him aspiring to new goals -- or, as he prefers to say, responding to opportunities.
The 6th District congressman from Lexington got an engineering degree to help him become a fighter pilot and perhaps an astronaut. He conquered the air then tried medical school as a route to space, but fell short.

I hope this article is reprinted and distributed widely. Ernie Fletcher is a "good guy" who happened to go into politics. We need this man as Governor of Kentucky.
