Homeowners have little to no recourse about the constant increase in their property value appraisals. As their home goes up in value, their taxes go up to.

Well, actually homeowners can do a couple of things, neither of whcih they seem inclined to do. They can get off their fannies and vote for people who won't rob them blind at tax time. And they can buy smaller/less expensive. Personally, we'd rather spend money on what goes in the house that on the house itself. Less to render unto Caesar that way.

Especially here in Houston. There's been some tremendous lobbying to try and get some of the property evaluations changed here, but I don't know how they are going to do it. We have been in our home 4 years and our mortgage payment has gone up $500 a month during that time simply due to property tax evaluation!
